Kael's breath came hard and fast. The forest's mist clung to his skin like sweat, and the heat from the tigers' flames warmed the air to suffocation.

One of the Azure Flame Tigers charged again, its fangs bared and body wreathed in blue fire. Kael sprinted toward a nearby cliffside, every muscle screaming. Just as the tiger lunged, he planted a foot on a mossy boulder and kicked off, flipping backward mid-air.
The beast slammed into the stone head-on.
