The sun was already high in the sky.
Heather and Juno lazily got out of bed.
Karen quickly brought out the breakfast she had prepared earlier.
"Adam, didn't you go back to sleep for a bit?"
"I'm not tired at all."
"Can't compare, can't compare," Juno remarked while eating her breakfast. "Your stamina is incredible, almost inhuman. No wonder you're so suited for the medical profession."
Interns often joke about the so-called "blessing" of the 996 work schedule (9 am to 9 pm, six days a week). But for medical interns, it's more like 007—on call 24/7.
On one hand, they're practically living at the hospital. On the other, being inexperienced means there's always a chance of losing a patient in an emergency or on the operating table.
It's almost like having a license to kill—just like Agent 007.
Heather's face immediately turned red.
No one understood this better than she did.
She had a feeling Juno was teasing her.
"Are we going to get your stuff this morning?"
Adam raised an eyebrow at Heather.
"Yeah," Heather replied, her face still flushed. "I don't really care about most of it, but my bone paintings are the result of years of effort. I want to get them back."
"Don't worry," Adam assured her. "We'll go together and get everything. Not a single thing will be left behind."
"Exactly," Juno said with a playful smile. "Even without us, you probably wouldn't be scared. After all, you spent the whole night learning grappling moves from Adam. Your combat skills are on a completely different level now."
"Ah!" Heather let out a startled cry.
"Juno!" Adam called out.
"Okay, okay," Juno shrugged. "Heather, don't take it to heart. I was just teasing you."
"I know," Heather said, a little embarrassed. "It's fine... I just got carried away last night..."
"I understand," Juno laughed.
"..."
Adam shot her a sideways glance.
Seeing that Heather had moved past the awkwardness and was chatting happily with Juno again, Adam shifted his focus inward. He had noticed something odd about himself.
He had always been energetic, but never to the extent of being able to fight intensely for two and a half hours, stay up all night, and still feel perfectly fine the next morning.
It had been a while, but he decided it was time to summon the mysterious system again.
Ever since his intelligence surpassed 140, he had been on a steady path: getting into Columbia University, achieving financial independence, and following his meticulously planned life trajectory.
The plan was clear: three more years to complete his undergraduate degree, then medical school—two years of theory, two years of rotations, earning his MD, followed by a year as an intern, then five to six years as a resident. After passing the exams, he would become an attending physician.
From there, he would perform more surgeries, extend more lives, build his reputation, and eventually compete for the position of chief surgeon. This would create a positive cycle of gaining resources, performing more surgeries, saving more lives, and enhancing his reputation, ultimately aiming for the role of hospital director.
College was a necessary transition. Although his intelligence was at a genius level, he couldn't shorten the four years of college, especially since he was also double-majoring in psychology—a crucial step to navigating the complexities of the world safely.
Even Sheldon Cooper, a super-genius with an IQ of 187, took three years to graduate college after starting at 11. Including the time he spent taking college courses at 10, it was about four years in total.
With his path clearly mapped out and no significant changes expected in his system's attributes in the short term, Adam hadn't checked the system in a long time.
"System, show attribute panel."
- **Intelligence: 146.05** (Normal: 100, Excellent: 120, Genius: 140, Super Genius: 180)
- Initial Value: 108
- Juno's Contribution: +1 + 0.005 × 365 × 4 + 0.004 × 300 × 1 = 9.5
- Sheldon's Contribution: +5 + 0.005 × 365 × 4 + 0.004 × 300 × 1 = 13.5
- Peggy's Contribution: +6 + 0.005 × 365 × 2 + 0.004 × 300 × 1 = 10.85
- Leonard's Contribution: +3 + 0.004 × 300 × 1 = 4.2
After breaking through the genius level of 140, the daily intelligence points provided by Juno, Sheldon, and the others decreased from 0.005 to 0.004. It made sense—wisdom couldn't grow without limit.
- **Strength: 400** (Normal: 100, Strong: 200, Super: 500, Inhuman: 1000)
- Initial Value: 80
- Contribution from the Duncan Family and Emmett: 100
- Contribution from the Friends Six: 20 × 6 = 120
- Leonard's Contribution: 20
- Juno and Karen's Contribution: 20 × 2 = 40
- Caroline's Contribution: 20
- Heather's Contribution: 20
No wonder fighting Ryan and David was so easy—his strength had quietly surged to 400, close to the "Super" level of 500.
- **Endurance: 500** (Normal: 100, Excellent: 200, You're the Impressive One: 500, Inhuman: 1000)
"Huh!"
Adam was surprised when he saw his endurance stat, then it all made sense.
He had reached a new level, truly achieving the "You're the Impressive One" tier. No wonder he didn't feel tired even after a night of intense activity.
However, he still couldn't figure out why his endurance attribute suddenly broke through.
Then again, considering he had already experienced something as unbelievable as reincarnation, nothing was truly surprising anymore. There was no point in overthinking it—he might go bald trying to figure it out!
The world is full of unsolved mysteries, after all.
