It's Been a While-ish
The first phase of the college entrance examination, mainly, the written exam, was to occur within all the high schools deemed eligible to take the examination.
Each school had a large examination hall dedicated to this purpose, and there would be an external supervisor to ensure sent to each school to ensure that there was no shady business going on between the students and teachers. Things like them giving the students answers or allowing them to take in cheats without punishment. Stuff like that.
The exam would only take a day, but every student will be writing a paper with a maximum of 3 hours to complete the theory and objective sections, with three papers per person. So, adding breaks, which were one-hour intervals between each paper, the exam would take a maximum of 11 hours.
