Chapter 83 - Bridging the divided

Aria's pov

The sun was setting, painting the sky in shades of orange and purple. Eadric and I were on the balcony, enjoying the cool evening breeze. I finally convinced him to come up with me to get some fresh air.

We had spent an hour discussing policies and strategies, something that I never thought I would find so engaging.

"Do you really think those changes would work?" I asked, swirling the wine in my glass as I leaned against the balcony railing. "I mean, they sound great in theory, but implementing them might cause a lot of pushback and with this new development, it might even be harder."

Eadric leaned closer, his eyes locked on mine, making my breath hitch. "That's the thing about change, Aria. It's never easy. But if it's the right kind of change, if it moves us forward, then it's worth fighting for." His voice was low, laced with conviction.
