The darkness was suffocating, and Anna's mind was a jumble of fragmented thoughts. She tried to remember how she got there, but her memories were hazy.
When she came to, she was in a different room. It was smaller, with gray walls and a single chair in the center.
Anna's eyes scanned the room, taking in the sterile environment. She saw a small table in the corner, with a single chair beside it.
The door creaked open, and the man from before walked in. "Good morning," he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm.
Anna's eyes locked onto his, and she demanded, "What do you want with me?"
The man smiled. "We want to see how you react to certain stimuli," he said. "You're a unique specimen, Anna."
Anna's mind reeled with questions. What did he mean by "unique specimen"? And what kind of stimuli were they going to expose her to?
The man nodded to someone behind Anna, and she felt a sudden jolt of fear. She tried to turn around, but she was restrained.
