Breakfast wrapped up quietly after the brief tension dissipated. Heather sought out Alex afterward, spending some time with him before making plans to go shopping. She walked down the grand stairs, almost sneakily. She didn't bother telling Caius she was going, she didn't need to. She took one of the Thorne family's cars and she drove off. They did say she was part of them; even though she knew it's all pretence.
Heather glanced at her phone screen, her thoughts briefly distracted as she stepped out of the Ferrari. The sunlight caught on the polished storefronts around her, and she took a deep breath. Boutiques lined both sides of the street, each tempting her with their high-end allure. To her right was Rag & Bone, to her left Marc Jacobs, and just down the block, Ralph Lauren. Her fingers lingered on the strap of her bag as she made her choice, heading toward Marc Jacobs.
