"But if we don't get up now, I'll never leave this bed," Elowen whispered, voice low against Ethan's shoulder.
"Yeah," he murmured back, smiling faintly. "Maybe not a terrible idea."
"Except the fact that the rest of the world doesn't exist when I'm with you."
"It could exist. Later."
"Mmm. Tempting. And I would love to stay, but... if I do, then you're getting no breakfast."
"I wouldn't complain."
"Yes, you would."
Ethan chuckled, running a hand through her hair. The strands slipped between his fingers like silk.
Elowen leaned up and kissed his cheek, then slid out of the sheets with a quiet stretch. Her hair fell down her back as she padded across the warm bedroom floor toward the bathroom, letting out a small yawn.
Ethan watched her, still half-asleep.
"Coming?" she asked, glancing over her shoulder.
"Yeah, yeah," he muttered, forcing himself to sit up. "You know that I am not a morning person."
