It was a quiet drive back home but all through, Martha kept glancing at him as he did. Per her request, he had spared the woman's life and they left her crying in the trailer.
Martha had so much on her mind but the courage to voice it all was simply gone from her. They drove for a while until they came back to her home and then he walked inside briskly.
She was still locking the door when she saw him walking into the kitchen. He did not have anything to say to her after all and she was having a mouthful of words.
Eventually, he came out, he had been drinking water and was about heading to the bedroom when Martha spoke up.
"Thank you." She said to him,
"For what?" He demanded.
"Getting revenge for me. I appreciate it." She responded.
"He never should have touched you." Julio responded.
"Yes. He never should." She said,
"Well, good night. Rest properly, we have a long day tomorrow." He said and started walking inside, leaving her there deep in her thoughts.
