"What emergency could have been so great that you had to leave the scene of an ongoing investigation? Do you realize that this nonchalant attitude of yours could have cost us our reputation?" The police chief demanded angrily.
Clearly, he was not buying the idea of Detective Kelly suddenly getting up and leaving like what they were working on was not of any importance. He really needed an explanation as deep down, he had a strong feeling that Andrew was busy taking notes.
"I'm sorry, chief. This was really important. A person's life was at stake." Detective Kelly explained to him.
The Polo chief was shocked as he stared at him.
"Did you say a person's life?" He demanded.
"Yes, Sir. An old lady could have been killed but that's by the way. I would take full repercussions for my actions." He stated.
