He had noticed that even the tiniest of those seemingly insignificant wind blades could tear open dark, jagged spatial cracks—rips so severe they were nearly impossible to heal.

Yet, the five elders didn't seem the least bit concerned. On the contrary, they looked eager and impatient.

The space around them rippled violently—and in the next instant, their figures vanished from sight.

At the same time, Lin Feng felt the world spin wildly before his eyes.

By the time he regained his senses, he found himself hovering above a pile of bones.

Instinctively, Lin Feng tried to circulate his Dou Qi to form a protective shield, wary of the terrifying wind blades swirling around him.

However, even after activating his Dou Qi, no shield appeared around his body.

He froze for a moment before realizing—

Everything he was witnessing was just a projection from who-knew-how-many years ago.

Any Dou Qi he summoned wouldn't affect this illusion at all.

With that in mind, Lin Feng grew bolder. Since nothing here could actually harm him, he began observing the environment more closely.

But as soon as he caught sight of the corpse of a flying magical beast below, his expression once again twisted in shock.

Right beneath him was the body of a massive flying beast, covered entirely in crimson feathers.

Its wingspan stretched over a thousand meters.

What was most terrifying was that—even though the image wasn't emanating any real pressure—Lin Feng's legs still began to tremble involuntarily.

"Holy crap… What rank was this thing when it was alive?!"

Lin Feng stared in horror at the colossal beast's corpse.

It was just a projection—there wasn't the slightest aura or oppressive force coming from it.

And yet, standing in its presence made him feel as weak and insignificant as an ant.

Well… from a size comparison alone, that wasn't far off the mark.

Luckily, before Lin Feng could dwell on the feeling any longer, a thunderous explosion suddenly erupted in the distance.

The earth-shaking noise snapped Lin Feng out of his daze instantly.

As he came to, the weakness in his legs disappeared just as suddenly.

Instinctively, he turned his gaze forward.

"Screeeee!"

Just as he looked up, a sharp, piercing screech rang out.

Its sheer power tore through the space of the miniature world, causing massive areas to collapse in on themselves.

Lin Feng was extremely thankful—this projection didn't seem to pose any real danger to him.

If that screech had happened in the real world, he was certain he'd have been crushed into pulp by the sheer pressure alone.

"This is bad! It's a trap—we've been fooled!"

"Run! This isn't just any ordinary Rank 9 Heavenly Phoenix!"

"That beast's soul hasn't dispersed! It wants to use our flesh and blood to prolong its life—AARGH!"

Under Lin Feng's horrified gaze, a phantom—an illusory figure identical in form to the massive corpse—suddenly burst forth from within it.

And then, right before his eyes, that enormous body smashed through the air like a meteor and instantly turned four of the elders into bloody mush.

Only the one standing farthest at the edge escaped immediate death.

But even he was grievously wounded—half his body crushed in the collision.

Seeing all his companions fall in a single blow, his face twisted in terror. With a mad scream, he turned and desperately fled toward the edge of the spatial world.

Then—Lin Feng's vision began to flicker.

Within seconds, the entire projection faded into nothingness.

Even after it disappeared, Lin Feng remained frozen in place, unable to shake off the lingering horror.

Yao Tianhuo noticed the powder on Lin Feng's forehead had already been completely consumed, yet the boy still wore a look of sheer terror.

Unable to hold back, he gave Lin Feng a hard pat on the shoulder and said, "Hey, kid, snap out of it! What the hell was recorded in there to scare you this badly?"

With that jolt, Lin Feng finally returned to his senses.

As his vision gradually cleared, Lin Feng's mind swiftly sorted through the pros and cons of what he had just witnessed.

In the end, he decided to keep the matter of that Rank 9 magic beast a secret.

There was a high chance that a ninth-rank magic core was still hidden within that beast's corpse.

And an item of that level was simply too precious.

He couldn't be sure whether Tian Huo Zun Zhe might develop... other ideas if he knew.

After all, even experts on the verge of breaking into the Ban Sheng realm had been drawn to that magical beast's remains.

If he could get his hands on that core, he might even be able to trade it for a ninth-grade treasure pill.

And a pill of that grade—forget about Nine Change Dou Zun experts—even Ban Sheng, or perhaps even true Dou Shengs, would be tempted.

After adjusting his emotions a little, Lin Feng spoke with a lingering sense of fear:

"Inside... I actually saw several Dou Zuns battling it out. The space shattered again and again, and the raging waves of Dou Qi were terrifying. Just watching it made my scalp go numb—it was truly horrifying."

Hearing that, Elder Yao's interest instantly dropped by half.

His eyelids drooped slightly as he replied in a somewhat disinterested tone, "Why're you so scared, kid? As far as I know, this type of recording method can't actually harm the viewer. At most, it'll just rattle you a bit."

"Ah—right, you probably don't know about this kind of thing. Suddenly witnessing a Dou Zun-level battle at such close range would spook anyone. That's pretty normal."

Seeing Lin Feng in such a flustered state for the first time, Elder Yao couldn't help but tease him.

Hearing this, Lin Feng recalled the moment he had laid eyes on the beast's corpse.

His heart stirred, and he shot back with a sour tone, "Those guys in there might've been even stronger than you, you know. It's only because I've got a firm will that I didn't collapse on the spot. Anyone else probably would've."

"Tch, what do you think a Dou Zun is—some kind of god? Back in my day, these kinds of recording methods were still occasionally seen. All the data about them was still intact. Basically, any Dou Zong-level cultivator and above would've heard of this technique. But..."

Halfway through his sentence, Elder Yao abruptly stopped talking and just floated there silently.

Seeing the old man stop mid-sentence left Lin Feng itching with curiosity—it was like a cat clawing at his heart.

He held out for a few seconds before giving in and respectfully asked, "Elder Yao… and then?"

Hearing the boy's inquiry gave a huge boost to Elder Yao's vanity.

He snorted smugly, "As a peak Five-Star Dou Zun, of course I'm well-acquainted with copper scrolls like that. According to the records, only Dou Shengs are capable of creating the kind of presence that would make you go weak in the knees, just from watching."

After finishing, Elder Yao shot Lin Feng a sideways glance and added leisurely, "You sure you didn't get so scared in there that you've forgotten how to take care of yourself?"

"Pah! Quit spouting nonsense, you old fogey. I'm fine!" Lin Feng huffed back.

His tone sounded perfectly normal, as if he truly wasn't affected.

"Anyway," he said after a moment, "aside from the battle, there should be an inheritance left behind by one of the Dou Zuns, right? Otherwise, it wouldn't make sense to go to such lengths to record just a fight."

Stroking his chin, Elder Yao chuckled, "If you have the time, you should go check it out. An inheritance left behind by a Dou Zun will definitely have some exceptional treasures."

Hearing that, Lin Feng played along and said, "Mm, that Dou Zun seemed even stronger than you, Elder Yao. Whatever he left behind is probably pretty incredible."

"You brat—still taking jabs at me, even now."

Elder Yao rolled his eyes at him, then flew off in the direction of the treasure vault again, clearly still intent on finding something he needed.

Lin Feng watched the old man leave, then casually picked a chair and sat down.
