Aurora sat hurriedly, smoothing her hair, and narrowed her eyes at him.
"Josh, you need to get used to knocking before entering a room, especially my and your Boss's rooms."
"I did knock. But no one answered my knock. Your silence concerned me, so I opened the door without waiting for your response. It's a security detail's habit." The regret in his eyes failed to convince her.
Aurora's forehead furrowed in surprise at his explanation.
Really? She missed the knock entirely, or perhaps she was too absorbed and lost in her thoughts that she blocked any sound out and didn't hear it. Silently sighing, Aurora set aside her confusion.
"Okay, whatever. Do you need anything from me?" She recalled informing him that she had no plans to go out today or maybe for the rest of the week.
Still leaning in the doorway, Josh gave a slight nod. "Yeah... Boss Alex called you many times, but you didn't answer his calls. He asked me to check on you immediately."
