Chapter 155 - Chapter 155: Xuan Zi Loses His Mind

"Golden Dragon—"

"DEMON FLASH!!!"

In the spirit of blending in (and fully embracing the local customs), Lin Yun shouted his soul skill name with all the shameless enthusiasm of a chuunibyou.

What was the point of firing off a killer move if you didn't yell its name? Where was the soul in that?

Ting—

A violet-gold light marked everyone except the six who hadn't attacked—a shimmering death omen glowing right between their eyebrows.

Xuan Zi's face twisted in horror.

What kind of insane hundred-thousand-year soul skill was this?!

Not only did it grant near-teleportation movement, but it could mark enemies along its path and detonate those marks for damage?

Comparing this to his own ninth soul ring made Xuan Zi want to dig a hole and bury himself in shame.

Two of his top-tier skills combined couldn't measure up to Lin Yun's fourth!

(Of course, if Xuan Zi knew this ring came from a Dark Demon Evil God Tiger, he wouldn't have dared compare in the first place.)

Back on the arena, Lin Yun stood with his back to the crowd, slowly raising his left hand.

Snap.

A crisp sound echoed as violet-gold light erupted from all thirty-four marked targets—a paradoxical fusion of salvation and slaughter, purity and corruption.

This was the Golden Dragon Demon Flash.

(Xuan Zi had guessed wrong about one thing: the marks didn't need manual detonation. The instant Lin Yun's movement ended, the slashes could have triggered automatically.

But where was the drama in that?

Besides, Lin Yun wanted to give Xuan Zi time to react. Mass murder wasn't the goal today.

So he delayed the detonation—and added a theatrical snap to remind the slacking Elder: "Do your damn job.")

Xuan Zi, to his credit, acted fast.

He crushed his wine gourd without a second thought, the liquid inside vaporizing into mist as spatial power-infused yellow soul force erupted from his palm.

An irresistible pull yanked all thirty-four marked students skyward—just as the violet-gold light exploded.

Like fireworks on a summer night, beautiful... and deadly.

Thirty-four slashes, each carrying the armor-piercing might of the Evil God Slash, locked onto their targets mid-air and streaked upward.

Even with Xuan Zi shielding them, the students felt their blood freeze.

Xuan Zi growled, his colossal soul power surging like a waking beast. A massive yellow barrier materialized, blocking the onslaught.

"Hmph. A fifth-ring brat, no matter how talented, can't breach my defense!" he thought, smugly taking another swig from a new gourd.

Clang—!

The slashes struck as one, the impact reverberating like thunder.

Xuan Zi wasn't wrong.

No matter how broken the Evil God Slash's defense-ignoring effect was, the gap in raw power was too vast.

The barrier held—though now crisscrossed with deep gashes.

For a Soul King to force a *98th-ranked* Super Douluo to defend seriously? Lin Yun could already call this a victory.

But he wasn't done.

Remember that special attention he'd promised He Caitou?

While the others got standard slashes, one mark had been… enhanced.

As the barrier strained under thirty-three hits, the thirty-fourth—aimed squarely at He Caitou—unleashed the Golden Dragon Fear Claw's tearing force.

CRACK!

The shield shattered.

Violet-gold light sliced through the remnants, bisecting Xuan Zi's gourd, carving a wound across his palm and cheek, and shearing off a chunk of his greasy hair.

Alcohol gushed onto his upturned face—just as the weakened (but still vicious) slash reached its true target.

He Caitou's crotch.

A triggered soul tool barrier flickered to life… and failed instantly.

The slash struck true.

Blood sprayed.

Something dark and fleshy went flying.

He Caitou looked down.

At the geyser of blood between his legs.

At the bone-deep wound.

At his disembodied manhood now tumbling through the air.

Splat.

It hit the arena floor from dozens of meters up, becoming paste on impact.

Then—the pain hit.

Not just physical (though god, the physical was unbearable).

But the realization:

It was gone.

Really gone.

No amount of healing could reattach that.

He Caitou's vision darkened as a scream tore from his throat:

"GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!"

(And because he was still airborne, there was no chance of retrieving the remains.

Pain.

So much pain.)
