Chapter 299: Transforming into the Dragon of Fire, Wood, and Thunder — A Surge in Power

As for what exactly had happened on Tenrou Island, Macao wasn't entirely sure.

He only heard from members of the Magic Council that during the guild's examination on Tenrou Island, they were attacked by Grimoire Heart, one of the three dark guilds. However, they had successfully repelled the attack.

The real reason why Tenrou Island and the guild members disappeared was due to the appearance of a terrifying black dragon.

After the black dragon vanished from Tenrou Island, it simply left.

Upon receiving the report, they had joined the Magic Council in searching the surrounding area for four days, but not a single survivor from the guild had been found.

"I never imagined the true culprit would turn out to be the black dragon Acnologia!"

George flew above the now-vanished Tenrou Island and activated his psychic abilities, beginning a meticulous search.

In truth, he had little hope that Makarov, Natsu, and the others were still alive.

Given Acnologia's power, Makarov and the rest stood no chance. Even if the guild master used all his life force to unleash Fairy Law, it would still be impossible to block Acnologia.

He had even used a tracking charm back at the guild, which showed no signs of activity.

Still, he wanted to search thoroughly. Having stayed in the guild for over a year, he had developed feelings for Makarov and the others.

"Hm? This is... Fairy Sphere!"

Moments later, George's eyes suddenly lit up.

Though he hadn't mastered Fairy Sphere yet, he had a foundation in time magic and thus some basic understanding.

During his recent detection, he faintly sensed traces of Fairy Sphere's presence at the location of Tenrou Island.

"Could it be that time was frozen using Fairy Sphere?"

Fairy Sphere is a time magic said to have absolute defense, capable of halting time around it to block any attack.

Perhaps the guild master had comprehended Fairy Sphere during this time and used it to preserve Tenrou Island and everyone on it during the dragon's assault.

This would also explain why his tracking charm didn't work—everyone had been sealed within the Fairy Sphere.

But several days had already passed, and the black dragon had long departed. Why hadn't Makarov undone the spell? Was there another reason?

After all, he hadn't deeply studied Fairy Sphere yet. Maybe with more research, he could find the reason and a way to lift the seal.

If his guess was correct, then there was still a strong possibility that everyone had survived.

Returning to the Magic Council's warship, he reported the general situation to Macao and the others. At last, a sliver of hope returned to their hearts.

"George, back when you left, the master said that if you returned, you would be the new guild master. Now that the master and the others are trapped in time magic, you're officially our new guild master."

"Very well, I'll assume the role of guild master. But for now, the guild's daily affairs will be handled by you, Macao. I need to devote all my attention to researching super-magic and rescuing the old master and the others."

George nodded without hesitation.

The S-Class Examination on Tenrou Island had involved nearly all the guild's powerful mages.

Some were participants, while others assisted with the trials. Now, among the remaining members, Macao was the strongest.

Macao was also the most senior mage in the guild besides Makarov. Though not particularly powerful, he knew everyone in the guild well and could handle daily operations without issue.

After Macao made formal greetings to the Magic Council on behalf of Fairy Tail, George led the remaining Fairy Tail mages back to the guild.

Next, George's clone in this world threw himself into the study of time magic and Fairy Sphere.

Meanwhile, in the world of Harry Potter—

Sitting in the classroom, George saw lightning streak across the sky and knew his moment had come. He used the Disillusionment Charm to slip out of the classroom unnoticed and flew to the location in the Forbidden Forest where he had buried the magical potion.

He found the crystal vial and opened it. The potion inside had turned red, meaning everything had gone smoothly.

He took the vial and flew beyond the castle's anti-Apparition boundaries. Then, he Apparated to a secluded area he had prepared in advance, protected by concealment spells. Drawing his wand, he pointed it at his chest and began the incantation:

"Amado, Animo, Animado, Animagus!"

As he completed the spell, he drank the blood-red potion in one gulp.

In the next second, a searing pain erupted in his heart. His heartbeat accelerated to an unimaginable rate, magic surged throughout his body, and his body began to rapidly expand.

The transformation lasted for a full thirty seconds before his body finally completed the Animagus transformation.

"Whew, finally done!"

George looked at his new transformed body with a gleam of excitement in his eyes.

"As I thought—I really did become a dragon. And a dual-attribute dragon at that."

Indeed, just as he had predicted. Because of the Dragon Seed and Dragon Crystal in his body, his Animagus form broke through the normal limits—he had transformed into a true dragon, a magical creature that typical Animagi could never become.

However, his dragon form was neither the golden dragon of Middle-earth, nor the fire dragon of the Harry Potter world, nor the wooden dragon of the Fairy Tail world. Instead, it was a fusion of all three.

His body bore the green hue of the wooden dragon, had wings like the fire dragon from the Harry Potter world, and those wings shimmered with the golden luster unique to the magical dragon.

He stood five hundred meters tall—larger than both the magical and fire dragons, though still smaller than the wooden dragon god.

Of course, the wooden dragon god had grown so massive due to devouring countless humans over four centuries. It probably wasn't that big when it first fled from the Eastern Continent to the Northern Continent.

His attributes were dual—he possessed both the wood attribute of the wooden dragon god and the fire attribute of the magical and fire dragons.

Or more accurately, triple. Because in this form, he retained his psychic powers, which allowed him to use lightning as well, though not through Dragon Slayer Magic.

In this dragon state, he felt his vitality and magic power had been tremendously enhanced, and his physical strength had reached epic proportions.

Had he been able to transform like this back when fighting the magical dragon in Middle-earth, he wouldn't have needed help from the three Elven Princes. He could have crushed the magical dragon with his physical might alone, without any magic.

Of course, even now, he didn't think he could defeat the Flame Dragon King. Maybe he could try in human form, but facing the Flame Dragon King in dragon form? No chance.

This was despite the fact that his current life force had greatly boosted the power of Fairy Law, the super-magic.

As for the black dragon—well, let's just say: the revolution has not yet succeeded; comrades must continue to strive.

The black dragon devours all magic. Even Fairy Law couldn't harm it, and only physical combat might stand a chance. Obviously, that was much more difficult.

What made it worse was that the black dragon's magic worked on him, but he couldn't nullify or absorb magic.

So, for now, seeking revenge on the black dragon for the guild members... was not something to even consider.
