She turned her head slowly to the other woman—the one the younger lady had called Jerry's mother. Abigail's voice softened but still carried weight. "As for you… I'm sorry, but you're not Jerry's mother. His mother is dead. That's what Jerry told me himself. So whoever you are, whatever game this is, I don't know what you're playing at, but I'm not going to fall for it."
The older woman's eyes twitched, barely showing emotion, but her lips curled into a thin smile. A dangerous one. And the younger one was already boiling, her chest rising and falling.
But Abigail didn't care anymore. She had heard enough.
