Eryx stood still, the name lingering in the air like a threat, his gaze never leaving Gordon's trembling form. The sound of the bat lowering echoed in the silence, and the tension seemed to leave the room like a vacuum.
Without a word, he turned sharply on his heel, his mind already focused on the next steps.
"Callum," Eryx's voice was low, commanding. "Throw all the men in front of the main mansion. Let her see what happens when you play a game with me."
Callum, who had been waiting for the signal, immediately nodded and began making arrangements.
