I was alive.
I couldn't believe it. I was actually alive. That was the first thing that came to my mind when I opened my eyes. Then a feeling of relief washed over me as I took the time to appreciate the gift of life. It was true never take anything for granted.
Although I was happy to be alive I wasn't so much as cheerful realizing the conditions under which I was. I had been kidnapped.
I'd woken up a little while ago to find myself lying on a bed, seemingly unharmed, in a room. My head was aching, my body muscles were sore and was hungry. I was still wearing the clothes I'd worn the day of the kidnapping. But my backpack was gone so I didn't have my phone to check the time and date. I didn't think I'd been here long though.
As soon as I noticed the unfamiliar setting around me I jumped out of bed and began to investigate. It was a difficult task considering my head was throbbing and my muscles aching.
