Screaming as even more fire exploded out of me, I held my arm and my half-regrown stump out at my sides, flying up into the air and dragging the entire inferno with me.

Surrounded as I was in the fire, I couldn't see what was happening around me, but I could feel through my flames.

The spheres of frozen fire began to rapidly centralize as I flew higher and higher. Seekvaira had altered her goal from trapping me to stopping the fire from surrounding her.

I didn't know when, but at some point she had snuffed out the flame in her dress, leaving me to guess where she was, my tracking charm having timed out while I was still trapped in the bubble.

At that moment, my best guess was the area where three separate spheres of frozen time ate at the same part of my fire.

Like a great, all-encompassing curtain, I reached up with my fire to surround the area.

Flames rose on all sides of the area like a blanket lifted from all four corners, reaching towards the sky to trap Seekvaira.

My flames began to freeze more rapidly and I felt several areas where a great wind passed as if Seekvaira was using her speed trick to beat my fire to the top of the cone I was creating.

Smiling as my limbs fully healed themselves, I shifted back into my flame state and rode my fire to the top of the curtain I was creating.

I shot out of the top and reformed just in time to see Seekvaira freeze another section of the flame. Her eyes widened as she realized what I was about to do.

Even more fire erupted out of me as I closed the top of the tornado myself, trapping Seekvaira in a rapidly condensing vortex of flame as large as the Roman colosseum.

She reached out, summoning a spell circle to attack me, but I rode a gust of Wind back into my fire, swimming out of the danger zone as the area of relative safety within the flaming orb I'd created rapidly shrunk smaller and smaller, hemming Seekvaira in. All the while I kept pouring fire from my body to add to the great inferno.

This had been my plan since the start of the fight: Blanket the arena in fire and allow it to spread, then use all of that flame to trap Seekvaira and overwhelm her. It was working and seemed like it would win me the fight. I didn't know Seekvaira had a trump card.

Seekvaira curled in on herself, retracting her arms and legs as she rolled into a ball. A large spell circle flashed into being in front of her. I sent flaming tendrils towards her to interrupt her casting, but I was too late.

Seekvaira screamed, throwing her arms wide as space shifted and crumpled around her. The spell circle in front of her exploded as everything around her ground to a halt.

Her hand was shaking as she slowly turned it counterclockwise. The sphere of fire that I trapped her in began to unravel, slowly backtracking through its movements.

I threw more fire to fill in the gap that was about to be created, but the moment it entered Seekvaira's influence it began to slowly flow back towards me.

Seeing my fire was ineffective, I shot lightning bolts, blades of pressurized air, orbs of demonic power and every other ranged attack I could think of at Seekvaira.

Without fail, each attack started to slowly move back towards me when it came within a certain distance of her.

She was rewinding time in her vicinity, preventing me from hurting her and unraveling the cage that threatened to consume her. I needed to figure something else out.

A flame clone spilled off of me and flew towards Seekvaira. I cast a spell targeting my clone as it flew on.

The clone's image became semi-transparent. It flickered unnaturally as if it was only half here.

My clone pulled flame out of its stomach to create a sword and slashed towards Seekvaira, its form unaffected by Seekvaira's temporal manipulation.

I'd made it partially ethereal in an attempt to bypass Seekvaira's influence, an effort that proved successful. Clarissa's lessons were proving amazingly useful.

The heiress dodged backwards, holding up her free hand to blast my clone with a demonic orb, scattering it into nothing.

She was visibly panting, sweat pouring from her forehead as the sphere unraveled enough to pass through.

The spell circle in front of Seekvaira crackled into nothing as she flew out of the fire. She had been free for less than a second when I slammed into her.

Seekvaira grunted in pain as I tackled her, whatever barriers she'd constantly had in place around her didn't stop me.

As I'd been able to guess from the exertion evident on her face as she rewound time, her entire focus was dedicated towards that singular endeavor, causing her to lose focus on her personal barriers.

I would likely not get another chance to hit her without her near-impenetrable shields, and I planned to take advantage.

The moment my arms wrapped around her midsection I unleashed Hellfire. My hands, my chest, my shoulders, my mouth – any point of contact or path my flame could travel became a vessel to transfer my fire into Seekvaira.

Screaming in agony as her entire body lit on fire, Seekvaira's hands clamped down on either side of my head. Reality fractured around us as another sphere of locked time condensed around us.

I didn't know why she'd trapped us both, but this didn't change anything. I kept pouring my fire into her when her body began to shimmer with the same blue energy she'd used to escape my attacks before.

I was blasted backwards as the glow lifted off of Seekvaira's body to form a translucent wall that divided the sphere of slowed time in half. I was trapped on one side as Seekvaira crumbled to the bottom of the other half of the sphere.
