Chapter 288 - Chapter 288: Iris’s Invitation

Roa's strength has almost recovered to 20%, close to 30%.

Logically speaking, Roa at this level can completely convert magic power into divine power, then inject it into the spirit seal, and summon Est or Restia.

But for some reason, Roa doesn't want to summon Est directly right now.

How should I put it, I feel like if Est sees Iris, she will definitely get upset and think about something else, right?

To avoid such a situation, it's better not to do that.

Est had previously been upset because of Claire and the others, and Roa didn't want to make things difficult.

The afternoon passed quickly, and when the last ray of sunset disappeared on the horizon, night had already fallen.

In the distance, a full moon hung in the sky, but its light couldn't reach Roa's window.

The oil lamp inside the room illuminated the surroundings with a dim yellow light.

This state didn't last long before a white light rose again. Something similar to a magic item emitted a light similar to a fluorescent lamp from his previous life.

This light wasn't very bright, but it paired well with the oil lamp, emitting a soft white light that illuminated the entire room.

Roa looked at the little gadget and clicked his tongue in wonder.

Roa's slacking off didn't last long. Soon, there was a knock on the door.

Sitting in the chair, Roa said lightly, "Come in."

A maid walked in.

The white lace-trimmed maid outfit showed off the girl's exquisite figure. The girl, around twenty years old, had slender and long legs wrapped in white stockings.

The girl raised her eyes and curiously looked at Roa's location. She was stunned in place with just one glance.

It was a young man. The young man was sitting quietly in the chair, looking somewhat lazy. His golden hair was scattered over his shoulders.

The young man was holding a book in his hand, his slender fingers casually flipping through the pages. His long eyebrows were slightly furrowed, as if he was thin

After waiting for a moment without hearing a response, Roa looked up in confusion.

Light golden eyes stared at the maid. Their eyes met, and after a moment of eye contact, the maid, who was older than Roa, blushed unconsciously and, like Claire, averted her gaze.

Roa put down the book and asked in confusion, "Um, is there something you need from me?"

Roa's words woke the maid up. After a brief blank, her brain quickly organized her thoughts and said to Roa, "Sir, Princess Iris invites you to have dinner together."

Roa nodded, got up from the chair, stretched, closed the book, and placed it on the table.

Roa was tall and slender. This time, he wasn't wearing that formal attire, but just a white short-sleeved shirt.

The short-sleeved shirt wasn't very good, just a mass-produced item, but even so, the white short-sleeved shirt looked so fitting on Roa.

Roa's figure was already good, the kind that looks thin when dressed and muscular when undressed. The not-so-loose clothes vaguely revealed the young man's strong figure.

The maid's face flushed, and she looked away, but subconsciously still wanted to glance over.

The slender figure came in front of the maid. The young man glanced at the lit oil lamp and casually asked, "Don't need to blow out the oil lamp, right?"

The maid quickly waved her hand, looked at the handsome face so close, and shook her head in a panic, "No need, just follow me, sir."

Roa was a little confused, feeling that the maid's reaction was a bit strange.

But after thinking for a moment, he realized.

Damn it, it's all because of my outstanding appearance.

Handsome boys are like this. A handsome guy talking to a girl has the same effect as a beautiful woman talking to an otaku. For some inexperienced children, it will cause them to blush.

Roa shook his head, knowing that the maid was a little nervous, so he didn't say anything more, just simply followed her along the way.

The journey wasn't long, but it wasn't short either. Perhaps feeling that it was too awkward to be silent all the time, the maid appropriately started a few topics.

"Um, you are Sir Roa, right? You look so young."

The maid looked straight ahead, seemingly casually asking.

Roa nodded and said in a somewhat teasing tone, "Yeah, if you really count it, my age might be younger than yours, sister?"

"Sister?"

Hearing this title, the maid's eyes instantly narrowed into crescent shapes, and the corners of her mouth also slightly raised.

The two chatted casually, mostly about daily habits and other trivial matters. Their relationship quickly became familiar.

The girl also had a clearer understanding of the young man.

Roa seemed refined and easy-going, and in reality, he was indeed so.

The two- or three-minute journey finally came to an end. The maid wasn't as nervous as before. Although her cheeks were still slightly flushed, her words were much more relaxed.

The maid's eyes were still fixed on Roa, and she reluctantly moved her gaze away from the young man, bowed slightly, and said seriously to Roa, "Princess Iris is inside. Well then, I'll take my leave."

Roa nodded slightly, as a farewell to her.

The door was open, so Roa wasn't so restrained. He walked straight in, and the first thing he saw was a long table.

The long table was larger than Roa's mahogany table, about one and a half times its size. It was covered with a white cloth to avoid staining the surface, and on the table were plates of colorful and fragrant food.

The food was steaming, and the aroma of meat quickly filled the entire living room.

Iris was sitting next to it. Seeing Roa's arrival, she reached out and looked around, pointed to the opposite side of her, and motioned for Roa to sit in front of her.

Roa didn't stand on ceremony, pushed the chair away, and sat down directly.

Another maid standing aside handed over the plate and cutlery. Roa thanked her and reached out to take the cutlery.

Iris said to Roa with some apology, "Although I really wanted to hold a banquet for you, brother, you're new here, and I didn't know what reason to use for a while. After thinking about it, I felt that you probably wouldn't like that kind of environment, so I finally decided to invite you to have a simple meal."

Roa was a little surprised, but looking at the food in front of him, the so-called compromise wasn't really a compromise at all.

There were four meat dishes: roast chicken, roast duck, stewed meat, and sliced beef.
