"Now, then, " The black glasses were thrown away, and Kyoko placed her right hand on her hips as she looked at Ezzo and Toto.
"Let me reintroduce myself properly. I'm one candidate for the 42nd King of Lugunica and Reinhard Van Astrea's future wife, Natsuki Kyoko. Kiki is my fake name."
Her eyes moved to Reinhard, who was brushing away the dust from his burned sleeve.
"And this is my Reinhard."
Reinhard bows slightly, showing respect to them, "As you heard, I'm Reinhard Van Astrea, the Sword Saint of Lugunica—and milady, could you please not stir them? They will misunderstand our relationship."
"What!!? You don't accept our relationship!? After the whole touching and fuck my pussy until I pass out, you don't see our relationship intimately!!? Reinhard, I didn't know you're such—"
"That's not what I mean, milady!!—"
"Then, what!? Am I just merely a one-night woman in your eyes!? I see...." Kyoko wiped her fake tears with a handkerchief, "Maybe I'm the only one who saw a difference in our relationship... Besides, I'm the one who dragged you into my bed... Forgive me. I should die—"
"Milady!! That's truly not what I mean!!—"
Toto and Ezzo sat completely astonished, captivated by the unfolding drama that left them utterly speechless. Yeah, who going to believe that the strongest knight in this world and the lady he served, who once bullied a giant freaking white whale, are disgusted as a new prostitute for some metal toy who is being targeted by a dangerous organization?
Even chicken will laugh at your story because that's so fucking nonsense, bruh.
"Wait, Reinhard? Are you talking about Reinhard Van Astrea—the legendary Sword Saint?" Ezzo exclaimed, his eyes wide with disbelief as he pointed at the renowned hero, "But why on earth are you dressed like that?"
There's no way everyone is going to believe that The Sword, the strongest famous figure, is wearing a girl's dress and sneaking into a brothel as a new prostitute. Because Sword Saint was seen as a pure thing. A brothel is a place filled with sins and dirt.
He shouldn't be here.
"Disguise, undercover," Kyoko answered casually.
"We search for metal things, square, black, and look like glass. You can open the screen by pressing a button. Have you seen it?" Reinhard asked in a tone that was both gentle and polite.
Toto placing her palm on her hips, "I have. I once brought in an auction for 25 holy gold coins. It was very expensive, but I buy it to be pissed that Manfred, the leader of Balance. But... I never thought he would attack me."
Kyoko groaned, "Yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't care how to get my phone. I care, where's my phone? So, where's it?"
"It's..... gone."
"What?"
Toto didn't flinch, "It was stolen last night. I had it locked in a secure vault in my room—until some rat-faced bastard in red robes broke through with wind magic and took it. We didn't even know what it was, but the moment he saw it, he called it 'a divine artifact from another world.'"
The black lady inhaled her breath deeply as if she wanted to devour all the air in this world so everyone can go die like a bitch.
"WHAT THE FUCK!!? OH MY GOD!! I'm going to kill someone. I'm going to kill EVERYONE!!"
Claangg!!!
She turned and began kicking a broken chair(who knows where it came from) leg repeatedly, cursing with each stomp, "Why—would—I—put—the gun blueprint—in—the damn—phone!? FOR FUCK SAKE!! I'M SUCH AS FUCKING DUMB!!! ARRGHH!!! I SHOULDN'T PUT IN SUBARU'S PHONE!!—Yeah, I know that's a mistake. I thought it was my phone, but I accidentally wrote on his phone. It's already modified, and I use the same device, same shape, same whatever it is that I mistook my phone, but still... HOW THE HECK THEY UNLOCK THAT PHONE!!! ARRGGGHHHH!!!!"
As Kyoko crashed out and cursed herself, blaming all those tragedies that happened because of her, Reinhard looked at Toto and Ezzo.
He smiled anyway, "Lady Toto. Mister Ezzo. I know this wasn't your fight. But now that your base of operations has been reduced to ashes, would you consider joining us?"
"Woah, I don't know you're such... You know, different from what I thought. Tell me, " Toto glared at him with sharp and cautious eyes, "Why would we have to join you?"
"We're investigating the organizations behind this theft," Reinhard continued, "And the group who attacked us is known as The Balance. If they were bold enough to strike here, they're likely planning something far worse."
"That's true, that The Balance has never done such a thing like this. Still, that's not answering my question—"
"MY PHOOONNEEEEEEE!!!!—" Kyoko's scream echoed across half of Flanders. She threw herself at Reinhard, clinging to him like a baby and sobbing on his shoulder.
"There, there. It's okay to feel upset. I promise we'll find it together," The Sword Saint said softly, giving her a gentle tap on the back to offer comfort.
Kyoko turned her head slowly, still flushed and mourning, "You're not saying that just because I meowed on your lap when drunk several days ago, right?"
"I am pretending that didn't happen," Reinhard said with the straightest face in Lugunica.
She clicked her tongue and looked at Toto and Ezzo again, "Tch. This whole thing's a mess. The Balance found my phone, broke into it, and made weapons with it. It's going to get worse. Just how the fuck did they unlock it?"
"If it's that important, you should take care of it carefully. I don't have to waste my wealth on such a thing like that." Toto claimed, soothing the dust from her dress.
"Oh yeah. Who told you to spend that much money on something weird? In the first place, why would you buy my phone at that price?"
"I told you that I wanted pissed that Manfred guy."
"Who's Manfred?" Finally, Kyoko asked the most sensible question.
Ezzo stepped forward, "Manfred Madison, the leader of The Balance. His organization controls the gambling quarter. He and Lady Toto have... such an incredible...bad relationship."
"No just bad. It's horrible, terrible. That bastard blows my garden!!!" Toto shouted with all her emotions.
"Karma. You shouldn't mess with him. Look now; your business will blow up. Congratulations." Kyoko mocked as she played with her nails.
"Oh, thank you for your sarcasm, young lady."
"Okay, Okay, Okay. Hold on a second. Let's take a deep breath and stay calm. If we keep arguing, we won't be able to figure this out," Reinhard said with a gentle smile as he stepped between Toto and Kyoko to help ease the tension.
"Good. Sword Saint, could you tell me what is your great plan? Why would we have to join you?" Toto asked again, but this time, her tone rose into arrogance.
"Excuse me, Madam whore. Could you choose another lovely time when talking to my Reinhard?" There is Kyoko's sharp attack.
"I'm asking the Swore Saint, not you."
"Is that so? If you like talking like that, then please sew your lips before I seal them myself. Because I can't tolerate your voice—"
Bzzzzttt!!!
A sharp, jarring glitch crackles through her earbud, abruptly interrupting the silence, and then she hears Castor's voice cut through the static, pulling her attention sharply back to reality.
Castor: "Finally!!! I got the connection!!! Lady Kyoko, what's happening there?"
"Castor, " She called, "We just escaped a deathly meeting with the grim reaper along with a recruit. Well, that's not important —Why the heck didn't you respond before?"
"Something blocks our connection. Magic, probably. I feel a huge mana radiation from my spot."
"Is that so? We're going to return. Please contact those thugs. I need information. If they don't have, order them to reserve a place for us in the casino."
"Which casino?"
"The Balance."
