What are they?
No one really knows.
Even in the novel Ash read in his previous world, their origins were never revealed.
Maybe the author planned to unveil the truth later, maybe it was a part of some grand twist yet to come—but Ash never lived long enough to reach that point.
Now, after transmigrating into this new world, Ash has come across some scattered mentions of the Runes in the Academy's old history books.
But gathering useful information wasn't easy—the knowledge about the runes were hidden across countless books filled with myths, vague theories, and irrelevant details.
Only a few fragments of the books were of any real use.
Still, Ash managed to piece something together.
With his photographic memory and sharp analytical mind, he connected the dots scattered across dozens of texts.
Though what he found couldn't be called truth. Not completely.
But... it was a theory.
