Actually … It kind of made sense.
If Edmund wanted to assign someone he trusted completely, someone who was without a doubt the strongest in all of Noctvaris, then the only person who truly met those standards … was himself.
It might sound a little narcissistic, but it was the truth.
"Yes, me," Edmund replied, his smile slowly fading when he accidentally caught his reflection in the window. "Is that … a problem?"
"Is it a problem?" Primrose looked at him, slightly concerned. "Your Majesty, I should be the one asking that. Are you sure you're alright with coming with me? This trip might take several days. What about your work?"
