"Giovanni. He took what was mine. I had my eyes set even before him. The nerve of him to take what's mine," he finished his sentence with a snarl.
"Yeah. That's bad. But what was it?" I asked, now completely focused on him, while I kept passing my drinks to him.
He put a hand on my shoulder and looked up at me with barely open eyes.
"Tell me. How would you feel if someone snatched the woman you had your eyes set on? The woman you can take life and give your life for? Imagine it's Jane. I'm sure you already know the feeling."
I ignored the clench in my heart at those memories and focused on Boris.
"I know. I'll want to kill the person responsible for it."
His lips curled into a wide smirk.
"That's my boy. And that's what I did."
"What?"
I didn't want to believe the things my mind was deciphering from his words. But in our world, you never know.
He leaned closer to my ear and whispered,
"Kill!"
"Whom did you kill? Giovanni?"
