Diana clutched my hand in a tight grip when we stepped into the venue, a seven-star hotel.
Dominic was on my other side, his hand resting on the low of my back.
"I want to go home," Diana whispered.
"Why are you so nervous? We are here and you won't even have to sit away from us."
She looked at me with fearful eyes before her gaze panned around the hall as if looking for someone.
She still hadn't told me what was the reason for her trauma. Even I didn't want to come to these parties. This was not my scene. But she looked scared of parties and crowds.
"What happened?" Dominic asked in a whisper while looking ahead with his usual cold face.
"She is scared."
Someone came to us and took our coats.
"Come, let's find our seats," he said as we walked ahead. His fingers slightly touched the skin on the back as I had a backless white dress on.
I had to restrain the urge to lean into him.
