Just then she heard Ray clear his throat behind her.
"I doubt this is a fair price," Maurice voiced his concern.
"Fair? I do not see any of you saving Campbell prior but are here to share the glory. No one shared the burden to save this company. How dare you talk to me about what is fair and what isn't?"
Her words had silenced Maurice up completely.
"For what is worth, I think I gave an overly fair game. If he had saved Campbell back then, I guess we could have judged his capability."
"Kiera you must understand that no one is out to get you," Ray began.
"I want what is best for this company."
"And so do I. But just as this position was given to me, it was earned through my hard work." The board fell silent, each member with his own thoughts.
"Or what, Uncle? Are you saying you are not up to the challenge or you are scared of a little competition?" She walked away from him with the same arrogant smile as earlier.
Ray took a deep breath before addressing them all once again.
