River looked around the halls confused. "What's happening?"
"The second floor is a mess," shouted a doctor running past him. "We've got people collapsing from the gas!"
Nobody understood anything, but ever so quickly, everything and every place in the headquarters began to become a catastrophe.
"Someone broke the gas pipe!" a panicked voice yelled over the intercom. "We need to shut down the ventilation system!"
"Who is doing all this?!" another one shouted. "Find them now!"
However, they find no one. The unseen person was like a ghost, plunging the entire headquarters into darkness.
"Emergency! Emergency!" echoed through the corridors. "Get the guards to capture the person! Emergency! Massive destruction on the third floor!"
"The labs on the east wing are on fire!" another voice screamed. "We can't contain it!"
"This is catastrophic!" shouted one of the head doctors. "All our research! The subjects will be lost!"
"Do you know what this means? Years of work will be gone! This will set us back indefinitely!
"Who is behind this?! Report any sightings immediately!" Antonio, who came running, huffing and yelling at the guards and doctors who were trying to control the uncontrollable situation.
"We need to move now. The place is coming down."
"The fire is spreading!" The lab began to burn, flames licking up the walls and spreading rapidly. "We're losing control!"
"All our data!" screamed a frantic scientist. "We need to save the data!"
Just as Antonio neared the exit, away from the other guard's eyes, a gun pressed to his head. "Don't move," Lia whispered behind him. "Where is Alpha?" He demanded in an icy voice.
"Argh!!" Antonio snarled furiously in frustration. "So it was you who did all this. You traitorous bastard, you're still alive."
Lia smirked, pressing the gunpoint further. "Surprised to see me alive? How could I die without taking all of you with me? Now, take me to Alpha."
"You fucking–!"
"Faster before I explode your head."
Antonio cursed under his breath but led Lia through the hallways, down a series of secured corridors.
"The labs are gone!" a doctor cried out as they passed. "All the subjects…everything we've worked for!"
Finally, they reached a heavily fortified door. "Open it, hurry up!" Antonio reluctantly used his keycard to unlock it.
Inside, Alpha was lying sedated and restrained with chains.
Lia's heart drops at the sight before him. Alpha was a bloody mess. Lia was utterly shocked and frozen for a moment. Antonio took advantage of his moment and shoved him away and bolting down the corridor. Lia barely registered Antonio's exit, his focus was solely on Alpha.
He rushed to Alpha's side, taking his face gently in his hands. "Will! Open your eyes. Will!" He tried again and again but got no response, raising his heartbeats in dread. "Don't do this to me, love! Please, it's me, Lia! Please open your eyes. See, it's me!"
Alpha's eyelids fluttered slowly. "Yes! Open your eyes."
As soon as Alpha opened his eyes and saw the person in front of him, with a desperate cry, he crawled towards Lia. "Lia! LIA! Lia! Lia! Lia!" He clung to Lia, repeating his name in an unstoppable rant.
Lia immediately enveloped him in a tight, fierce hug which no one broke again. Lia felt as if he could breathe again, having his boy back in his arms again. "Yes, it's me, baby! Oh, I missed you so much–mmnfh!"
In his fervent joy, Alpha yanked Lia's face towards his and slammed their lips in a hard, desperate kiss. Lia instantly returned it with equal hunger.
"Lia!" Kiss. "Lia!" Kiss. "Lia!" Kiss. Every breath Alpha took was punctuated by his lover's name and another kiss.
And Lia accepted each one wholeheartedly, his heart aching with how much he had missed this boy, his boy. He held Alpha tighter, enjoying the contact he lost for a while. "I know, baby, I know you missed me. Believe me, I missed you more than anything," Lia whispered, trying to soothe the hyperactive Alpha, who was ecstatic to be reunited with him again. "But we have to leave soon."
When Alpha finally seemed satisfied with the numerous hugs and kisses, he interlocked his fingers with Lia's and looked at him with hopeful eyes. "Lia! No go!"
Lia's eyes grew teary, his heart aching at the sight of fear in Alpha's eyes. "I won't love, so calm down, okay? I know you're happy, I'm happy too to see you again. But we need to be quiet so nobody catches us, alright, sweet boy? Could you do that for me?"
Alpha nodded vigorously. "Good boy," Lia patted his head and face. "Now I'm gonna get us out of here, so you need to listen to me."
They moved quickly and quietly out of the room, Lia's protective arm around Alpha guided him. Alpha stayed close as promised while his grip never loosening from Lia's hand.
They walked through the disarray Lia had created, the sounds of alarms and shouting faded into the background. But Lia's only focus was on getting Alpha to safety. They ducked through doorways, dodged patrols, and slipped past the panicked staff.
However, as they stepped out into the exit of the main building, their relief was cut short by the sight of Antonio standing there with his men. Antonio was expecting to see Lia terrified and beg for his life after witnessing his army but he forgot that Lia also had his own army.
A one-man army.
Lia smirked and sighed. He squeezed Alpha's hand and glanced up at him with a smug. "I've heard you're worse than a weapon. Won't you show me how lethal you are, love?"
Alpha looked between Lia's beautiful face and then at his target who flinched behind Antonio.
Lia smirked evilly and whispered. "Go," he commanded. "Kill them all."
Alpha's transformation was immediate and terrifying. The guards barely had time to react before they were cut down, their screams filling the halls, setting up the mood for Lia to enjoy.
"You nasty dog! Crazy bastard!" Antonio spat and lunged towards him. "You think you can just walk away from this? I'll fucking cut you to pieces!"
But Lia was ready this time, parrying the attack and countering with a kick to Antonio's ribs. Antonio grunted in pain but quickly recovered, slashing at Lia with a knife. Lia dodged and retaliated with a punch to Antonio's jaw, the force of the blow sending him staggering back.
"You're going to pay for everything you've done, you mad fucker!" Lia growled and punched his nose.
Antonio only laughed, a cruel, mocking sound. "A small worm like you can never destroy big sharks like us."
Lia's response was a storm of punches and kicks. When Lia saw that he wasn't responding anymore, he backed away and walked to where Alpha was fighting alone. However, Antonio managed to grab a piece of broken glass from the ground and drove it into Lia's leg and hand.
"Ahh!" Lia screamed in pain and Antonio only twisted it further into his palm. His vision blurred for a moment due to the tears, but he saw as Alpha appear behind Antonio and pulled him away. "Will...hold him in p-place."
Alpha did so. Lia gritted his teeth, ignoring the searing agony. His bloodshot eye met with Antonio who could see his death in Lia's eyes.
"N-No—Augh…urghh!!!!" With a growl of revenge, he stabbed the same glass in his palm into Antonio's eye making him howl like a dying dog.
Leaving the glass stuck in his eye, Lia stood over him, breathing heavily, a twisted smile spreading across his face. "A one-eyed shark ha ha?"
"Ha ha…hahaha! Would you look at that Will!" He glanced around at the massacre, his smile growing wider. He began to laugh, a wild, almost manic sound, as he surveyed the corpses of Antonio's men scattered around them. The blood, the destruction—it was disgusting, but Lia was revelling in it. It soothes his itch for blood and revenge to some extent.
Suddenly, he stopped laughing and turned to Alpha with the sinister smile still plastered on his lips. Alpha innocently stood in front of him, waiting to be praised for completing Lia's words. Without wasting a second, Lia grabbed him and pulled him into a fierce and hot kiss accidentally biting Alpha's lips.
"Oops…" Lia murmured against Alpha's lips, but before he could say more, Alpha kissed him back, harder and more desperate. Alpha slipped his hand into Lia's where a small piece of glass was still stuck there. But none of them mind it and squeezed their hands as a trail of blood dripped on the floor.
"I missed you," Lia whispered between kisses, nibbling on Alpha's lower lip.
Alpha's only response was to kiss him deeply, his other hand fisting in Lia's hair. He was alive, and free by his side, that's all that mattered to Lia. When they pulled back after a while, Lia with his leg bleeding and his heart pounding, held Alpha's hand tightly.
They sprinted towards the exit, and when they did so, Lia could hear the sirens of cop's cars. Scout and his team, armed to the teeth, entered. For a brief second, Scout's eyes met with Lia but Lia didn't stop. He ran past Scout, pulling Alpha along with him.
They dashed into the forest that surrounded the headquarters. Lia felt Alpha's exhaustion as his steps became slower, his breathing more laboured.
Lia glanced back at him and he looked like he would pass out any second, though he didn't complain. Lia thought for a moment before speaking. "You know what, let me give you a piggyback ride," Lia said with a soft smile, crouching down.
Alpha stood there in confusion as to what to do. Lia patted his back, signing for him to ride. "C'mon, get on my back."
Slowly Alpha lowered himself and climbed onto Lia's back, wrapping his arms around Lia's shoulders. They continued their journey again.
"Lia," Alpha breathed softly, resting his head against Lia's neck.
"Yes, baby," Lia responded tenderly with a smile.
"I love you," Alpha said shyly as he buried his face in the crook of Lia's neck.
Lia's heart fluttered as he stopped in his tracks. A warm smile spread across his face. "I love you too, baby."
"I love you!" Alpha repeated again and Lia knew that his ranting had started again. "Lia, I love you. I love you!"
"I love you too!" Lia found that habit so adorable that he would have kissed Alpha until he lost his breath if his hands weren't busy carrying him. "Willuf, we are finally free. I did it…I saved you."
