Tsunade stepped forward, kneeling beside Sakumo and carefully examining his wounds. "This is Suna's poison... Chiyo's work, no doubt. Nasty stuff."
Without hesitation, she barked out an order. "Double Chakra Purge—Reverse Extraction!"
Two chakra constructs materialized, forming a golden barrier around Sakumo. White steam hissed from his body—the poison being forcibly expelled from his system. Slowly, his breathing steadied, his eyelids fluttering open.
Sakumo blinked, glancing at Tsunade, then shifting his gaze toward the Sand shinobi shielding a child. For the first time, a flicker of hesitation crossed his usually cold and calculating eyes.
"We're leaving," he commanded, his voice even but laced with something unspoken.
With that, the Konoha forces withdrew. But the impact of this battle would be felt far beyond the battlefield.
The name White Fang echoed through the shinobi world that day.
For he had slain Chiyo's son and daughter-in-law.
"Impossible..." Chiyo whispered, her voice hollow. The Sand ninja before her trembled as he delivered the report.
Behind him, a young boy—Sasori, her grandson—stood in stunned silence.
Grief twisted into fury. "Mobilize the army! I will see Konoha's White Fang buried alongside my children!" Chiyo roared.
The war between the Land of Fire and the Land of Wind had entered its final, bloody stage.
"Magnet Release: Iron Sand Tempest!"
Third Kazekage moved without hand signs. Waves of iron sand burst into the sky, morphing into thousands of razor-sharp needles that rained down upon the battlefield, seeking flesh.
"Hatake Sword Style: Raining Blades!"
Sakumo's sword slashed through the air, sending countless streaks of chakra-infused light to intercept the falling iron storm. The resulting shockwave sent dust and bodies flying.
Tsunade seized the moment. Chakra surged around her as she lunged forward. "Heavenly Cleave!"
Chiyo reacted instantly. "Puppet Technique—Mechanized Light Shield!"
A chakra-powered blue barrier flared to life between them, absorbing Tsunade's monstrous strike. Chiyo's puppets countered in the same instant, releasing a barrage of kunai toward Sakumo.
"Triple Defense—Absolute Denial!"
A triangular chakra shield formed before Sakumo. He scoffed. "You're underestimating me, old hag."
"Magnet Release: Iron Sand Spear!"
Third Kazekage's iron sand coalesced into a giant lance, hurtling toward Sakumo with lethal precision. Simultaneously, a massive iron pillar swung toward Tsunade, aiming to crush her.
Sakumo's grip on White Fang tightened. His stance shifted. "Hatake Sword Style: Mountain Splitter!"
His blade cleaved through the iron spear in a single, decisive stroke.
Tsunade was equally unrelenting. "Titan's Kick!"
Her foot met the iron pillar with a devastating crack, sending it hurtling back toward the Kazekage.
The four warriors disengaged, eyeing one another, their breaths measured, their bodies tense. The battle was far from over.
Chiyo's lips curled into a smirk. "Even if you two can hold your ground against us, can the rest of Konoha's shinobi withstand our might?"
Tsunade scoffed. "Do you think I came here unprepared?"
Chiyo's smug expression faltered. Her gaze flickered to the battlefield below. Konoha's forces—once struggling against the poison-laced fog—were now popping small pills into their mouths. Within moments, the toxin's effects vanished.
Chiyo's fists clenched. "Damn you."
Without missing a beat, she commanded, "Puppet Art—Ten Puppets Formation! Attack!"
The Kazekage ascended into the sky, iron sand shifting behind him like massive wings. "Magnet Release: Iron Sand Storm!"
Hundreds of iron sand feathers shot toward Sakumo, moving erratically through the air.
Sakumo met them head-on, his sword flashing. "Hatake Sword Style—Unseen Strike!"
A flurry of cuts, too fast for the eye to follow, shredded the projectiles before they could reach him.
But Third Kazekage wasn't done. "Iron Sand Domain!"
The air itself became a death trap—iron sand twisting like tendrils, lunging toward Sakumo from every angle.
Sakumo exhaled, sheathing White Fang. His body stilled.
Then—
SHING!
A single slash. A blinding flash of white.
Blood erupted from Third Kazekage's chest, a deep, vicious gash carved through his torso.
But even as he fell, his attack landed—iron sand spears piercing through Sakumo's stomach.
Both warriors collapsed.
And the legend of Konoha's White Fang was cemented in blood.
"Damn it..." Third Kazekage spat, struggling to rise. "Chiyo! Fall back!"
Chiyo hesitated, eyes flickering between her injured Kazekage and the battered but standing forces of Konoha. Gritting her teeth, she gave the order. "Retreat!"
As the Sand shinobi fled, Tsunade raised a hand. "Hold position. Let them go."
A tense silence settled over the battlefield.
Then, an Anbu appeared beside Tsunade. "Lady Tsunade! The Land of Earth is pressing our borders! Captain Dan is gravely injured! The Hokage orders you to the Stone battlefield!"
Tsunade's brows furrowed. "He's sending me straight to another front...?"
She exhaled sharply, casting a glance at Sakumo before making her decision. "Fine. After I treat him, I'm heading out."
Meanwhile, in a far-off land...
"Water Style: Wild Rapids!"
Yahiko spat a surge of water toward Naruto, who effortlessly dodged.
"Paper Shuriken!"
Konan's origami weapons swirled through the air.
"Wind Style: Gale Palm!"
Nagato's wind chakra propelled the shurikens at blinding speed.
Naruto yawned, pulling out a kunai to parry. "You guys still have a long way to go."
He eyed Konan for a moment. Hmm... not bad. Needs work, though.
"Looks like I'll be training you three a little longer..." he mused, stroking his chin.
Yahiko groaned. "We almost had you!"
Nagato clapped a hand on his shoulder. "Next time."
As Naruto turned away, his own Shadow Clone snuck up behind him.
"Taijutsu! Thousand Years of Death!"
POP!
The clone dispersed, but Naruto flinched.
Damn... I really do see through myself... he thought, shaking his head.
"Alright, break's over! We're going hunting! Bear paws for dinner!" Naruto declared, leading the trio toward the forest like a rogue captain rallying his crew.
At the Stone battlefield, Tsunade knelt beside Dan.
"I'm sorry, Tsunade... I won't be able to chase your dream with you..." he murmured weakly.
Tsunade's expression remained unreadable. She glanced at the masked Anbu standing nearby, then back at Dan.
They really left you for dead, huh?
"Double Chakra Purge—Reverse Extraction!" she said coolly.
Dan's body convulsed as warmth spread through him.
"I... I'm alive?! But my organs were—"
Tsunade smirked. "Don't be stupid. I can rebuild organs if I have to. Wanna try living without a head next?"
Dan paled. "I-I'll pass."
Tsunade sighed. Another battlefield awaited.
