"What the f**k, Christian?" Agatha shouted as she stepped between Christian and David, shoving Christian's chest with both hands. The impact barely moved him, his solid frame like a wall, but her anger made her braver than usual.
"Are you alright?" she asked David, glancing over her shoulder at him. David held his side where Christian had landed a blow, grimacing but trying to mask it with a crooked smile.
Before David could reply, Christian signaled one of his guards. The man stepped forward without hesitation and helped David up, steadying him.
The guard offered Agatha a brief nod and said, "Let me handle this, ma'am."
Agatha's glare never left Christian. She could feel her chest rise and fall rapidly, the heat of rage flushing her cheeks. Anita and Josh stood a short distance away, both stunned into silence. Anita recovered first and quickly walked to Agatha's side.
"Didn't you tell him?" Anita whispered urgently.
