Edric couldn't catch on to what he had seen. He felt he was dreaming. He had earlier been searching for Genevieve everywhere but to no avail. And now, as he entered the dimly lit room, he met with a sight that made his blood rim cold.
Lying on the ground, pale and lifeless, was Genevieve. Her body was still, her eyes closed and her glowing body had turned into all shades of different color. The prince's eyes widened in horror as he stumbled towards the lifeless Genevieve, his mind refusing to accept what he was seeing; a loud, heartbreaking,, and previous screams echoed through the room.
He fell on his knees beside her and gently touched her closed eyes. It was so cold, and he reached to check her pulse but there was no pulse beating in her neck. A strangled cry escaped his lips as he realized that Genevieve was truly gone.
Not only did the strangled cry escape his lips, but heavy tears flowed down his eyes, staring at the cold Genevieve.
