Over the course of several weeks, the prince and Genevieve found themselves growing closer. They would spend hours talking, telling folktales and folklores, and their laughter would fill the chamber, which other servants do not see as something new anymore. The prince began to feel a sense of comfort and trust with Genevieve, the one he had never experienced before, not even with his father—the demon king.
Genevieve's sincere kindness, compassion, and empathy had drawn the prince in, and he found himself opening up to her without any form of discomfort or uneasiness around him. He would confide in her about his fears, his dreams, and things that bother him. Whereas, Genevieve would listen with ultimate attention, the warmth that made the prince seen and loved.
