Asher, Rin and Val wore their clothes back before two guards entered the dining room. Their eyes flicked toward the grotesque sight of Veyna sprawled across the marble floor, blood pooling beneath the stump of her severed leg before quickly shifting their attention to Asher and Val.
"Bring the Guildmaster," Asher ordered, voice calm but laced with authority.
The guards bowed and exited without a word. A few minutes later, the muffled rumble of a hoarse-drawn chariot echoed from the estate gates.
Asher turned toward Val. "Have your little heart-to-heart conversation with Veyna." he said with a wry smirk. "But Rin stays. I still don't trust your sister not to pull something stupid."
With that, he left the sisters alone and made his way to his room.
Inside, Tama lay still on the bed, her chest rising and falling faintly. Asher sat beside her and gently nudged her shoulder.
