Selene stood at the junction, her body stiff with tension as she stared down both corridors.
They stretched endlessly into darkness, one to the right and one to the left.
Her memory, hazy and fragmented, couldn't recall where either path might lead.
The deeper she dug into her past, the more blurred the lines became between memory and nightmare.
She clenched her fists. Choosing wrong could mean exposing herself before she was ready.
Just as she was about to turn back and try a different path, the voice in her head crackled to life.
[Left. Go left.]
The command was soft but firm—like a hand placed gently on her back, guiding her forward. Selene's first instinct was to resist.
She didn't trust the voice. It had gone quiet for days, only to reemerge now with sudden urgency.
