Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 Echoes memories beyond veil

Luna,"Did he just ...."showed concern about me !?"

No, fact suggests otherwise,

In the novel

"I believe he hated me , since I am the daughter of Isabella, who is ultimately the reason of the previous dechess death "

Anyways, I didn't expect the reality to be exact same as the novel ....

The library was quiet eerily so.

Sunlight slanted through stained glass windows, the scent of aged paper wrapped the silence like a blanket.

Luna wandered between the high shelves, her small feet barely making a sound. Nine years old ...

"What's this…?" Her Blue jwell eyes paused on a narrow, neglected section of the shelf. One book leaned oddly forward, out of place, as if it wanted to be found.

She pulled it free. The leather was cracked, the corners bent from time and wear.

Faded gold letters across the cover read:

"Beyond the Veil "

"Veil , another, from elsewhere…?" she echoed under her breath. "Just like me."

Curiosity sparked in her chest. Hugging the book to her chest, she walked to her favorite window seat. The wind whispered through the open glass, gently tugging at her silver hair, as if greeting an old friend.

She opened the book.

Strange symbols filled the page, curling in an elegant script that didn't belong to this world. But just as her eyes settled on the letters, a shimmer flickered in her vision.

[System Skill Activated: Universal Script Translation Lv. 2]

The words morphed before her eyes.

"To whom it may concern: This world is not my origin. I came here by accident or perhaps fate. I am Caelum Virel, and I believe the dimensions are alive."

Luna's breath caught.

Caelum Virel… He's not from this world either.

Her fingers turned the pages with increasing urgency.

It was a diary, filled with personal notes, strange calculations, and crude sketches of symbols runes unfamiliar even to the System.

But this wasn't just Caelum's work.

In the margins, someone else had written notes. A different pen. A newer ink.

"Gustov Arden, Scholar of the North Tower.

I discovered Caelum's writings in the ruins of Arclune.

His theories, though bizarre, align disturbingly well with forbidden arcane records."

Gustov… So someone tried to validate him. This isn't just a madman's ramblings.

Luna leaned closer, eyes narrowed. "Dimensions… Not broken, just… blurred. Thin."

Her heart thudded.

"Just like me… When I came here, I didn't fall. I slipped through."

And then she saw it a short ritual. Primitive. Barely four lines.

A chant, a diagram. Simple enough to try, yet strange enough to be dangerous.

Luna hesitated. "This might be a trap…"

But her fingers didn't stop moving. She copied the diagram onto the floor using chalk from her inventory.

Her hand trembled slightly, not out of fear, but anticipation...

Wind began to circle her ankles, playful at first...

"Zera don't disturb me .... I'm busy latter"

Zera!?

"Wait something strange , as if it isn't Zera anymore "

Wind curled around her , heavy ...

She stood inside the circle, whispered the words.

"Anima fracta, ostende viam…"

("Fractured soul, show the path…")

The air around her pulsed. For a split second, the world seemed to ripple like a reflection disturbed by a drop of water.

And then… nothing.

The silence returned.

But Luna's eyes widened. Her System window flickered.

[New Passive Detected: Dimensional Sensory Lv. 1 - Awakened]

"You have taken your first step."

She exhaled slowly, her lips curling into a smile.

"Caelum… you weren't crazy. And now, I'm going to find out what you saw."

Far above the clouds, something stirred an ancient gaze turning toward the girl who dared peek beyond the veil.

"Hah ...smile curled around her face ,

Then suddenly, she senced a piercing gaze

"What .... Breathing coldly hafff "

What is this weight....no it's someone gaze

Someone way stronger ...no something beyond the defination of strong

"Who is it !!!?"

The ritual was complete.

The wind had died down, and the room felt still again but Luna's breath was shallow.

Her heart beat loud in her ears, as if something inside her had awakened. The floor beneath her felt firmer… too firm.

No.

It wasn't the same stone floor anymore.

The golden light of the library had dimmed. The vibrant colors from the stained glass were gone.

The smell of parchment and old wood replaced by something sterile like metal and cold air.

"Where am I?"

She turned around.

She wasn't in the library anymore.

She stood in a long corridor made of smooth white panels. The walls glowed faintly blue.

Machines hummed quietly on the sides, their lights blinking softly.

In the distance, a faint voice echoed distorted, like a recording.

"—Subject 7 has crossed the breach. Mental integration is stable. Begin observation protocol."

Subject 7…?

Luna's lips parted slightly. "That voice… I've heard it before."

Her head throbbed. A flash.

A memory, one from her world.

She was 8 , lying on a soft reclined chair, wires attached to her temples. Cold voices around her. Screens flashing symbols she no longer understood.

"Are you ready, Sohee?

She gasped, stumbling back. The image shattered like glass.

The corridor flickered.

And suddenly , she was back in the library.

The chalk circle was still there, but the pages of the book had flipped open to the end. A new line had been written one she hadn't seen before.

In Caelum's sharp handwriting:

"The veil remembers. So do you."

Her fingers trembled as she shut the book.

"That wasn't just a vision… That was me."

The system chimed quietly in her ear.

[Dimensional Ripple Detected – Tracing Anchor...]

"Memory fragment recovered. Further stabilization required."

Luna stood slowly.

Everything had changed.

She wasn't just reading about Caelum anymore.

She was following him. Step by step. Page by page. Rift by rift.

And this time, she wasn't going to forget.

"This world gave me a second chance. But I haven't forgotten the first."

As the sun dipped lower outside the library window, Luna gently tucked the book under her arm and walked out. The wind followed her like a shadow, swirling with secrets.

After a second, she got through that ...

It was tough for her but not impossible

She inhales slowly

"It's alright... Now "she looks up in the sky

Just a while before the ritual , sky was normal

But now , wheather has completely changed ...

"These enormous clouds" , dark and huge like mountains ...

She goes back in her room and hides the book under the drawers...

She looks outside ....

Patels of flower blue in colour swiss inside her room

She looks at that petal which falls in the ground , outside her room ...

Making ripples in the water ...

....
