It was noon but he called it breakfast. We ate in silence and I thanked him for his hospitality and left. I could see that he wanted to protest to me leaving but he held himself back.
What a sweet boy.
The house was not empty, Baurbius was still in the same spot I left him. He did not even turn to look at me when the door opened. I slipped into my room to look for Puff so we could leave but he was not there. No matter how much I searched, Puff was nowhere to be found in that room.
"Puff?" I called out as I checked under the bed, behind the curtains, in the closet. Nothing. I could actually not find him.
I went from room to room, whispering so as not to disturb Baurbius.
