His parents were out of town into the city so they were not able stop him or chase me away. Their absence was welcomed as I sat on their couch, covered with a blanket as I shivered.
Simon was dressed in no time and he gave me an umbrella and a coat to keep me warm as we left the house. He offered me a change of clothes too but I could not accept it, I did not want to. He argued and together, we went back out into the rain to look for Leah.
Nothing felt normal this night and I was not sure if it would ever be again.
We spent hours searching the streets, even occasionally knocking on some doors to ask if they've seen a young lady but none of our efforts were fruitful. We could not find her. It was now almost midnight and the rain had not let up, it was like it was mirroring my emotions.
Simon suggested we go back to the house, just in case Baurbius had found her. I knew that Baurbius would not go back if he did not find her and to some extent, that was a huge relief.
