Chapter 6 - Loot

Seeing Jorvas's dead body dropping headless on to the ground, even the bandit commander started running along with others..

"Victor!! Don't let anyone escape!!"

Victor covered his whole body with mana and rushed towards the fleeing crowd slaughtering everyone in his path.

" He is an elite rank Knight, run!! "

" We are doomed!"

The bandits started screaming in fear seeing Victor swinging his long sword. The sword was cutting bodies in half like butter.

Of course normal people are nothing Infront of an Elite rank mana user let alone an awakened rank. And the bandits knew it well, their survival instincts were telling them to run as far as possible .

Screams were echoing in the whole place as Theo was slashing people Infront of him too.

His Falcata was short, but it was easily able reach and slice off the leather armors to poison the bandits who were running turning their back to Theo. But with his stamina he could only chase down couple of them.

Meanwhile, Victor was using full extension of his mana core. His power and agility was 50 times more than usual. He swiftly jumped from one bandit to another and killed most of them who were still running to cross the wooden fence around the camp.

For the scattered bandits, he send mana slashes by swinging the sword in air. The mana slashes flew over in a blink killing 4 of them all together.

This was a benefit of the Elite rankers who could send slashes made with pure mana and kill the enemies who were out of the sword range.

It was pure massacre.....

It took only 5 minutes to clear all the remaining bandits. An Elite rank Knight could easily take on 25 normal people with full strength. With the panicked bandits who were running without defending the number rose to 40.

"My lord I have killed everyone of them, but unfortunately the leader was nowhere to be seen". Victor came back with his sword in hand which was dripping in blood. " I am sorry my lord. I should start looking inside the forest."

" Hmmm.. So the bandit leader was not as dumb as Jorvas. He probably used the chaos to escape in the middle of the fight."

Theo stroked his chin and replied while looking at Jorvas's corpse in the ground. " He was smart enough to not to underestimate us. I'll give him that".

" Wouldn't that be a problem? He will probably go to Varkos and tell him everything that happened here." Victor spoke with a concerned look.

" It certainly would. But I am thinking about exposing it too. So, I think we can handle it. Varkos can't do anything right away. moreover to make my plans work,we need to gain support of the locals."

" Now first things first. Victor; loot everything from the hideout. From valuables to the last piece of clothing and fill up the wagon." Theo commanded Victor while starting to loot nearby bodies himself.

"Okay my lord. I will go check the cabins." Victor gave a nod.

After a while.....

Victor managed to collect everything from the bandit hideout. He didn't miss anything. From utensils to empty wooden box he took everything, he found useful and filled the wagon.

There was nothing over the top valuable in the hideout but still the things they collected were more than enough. The storehouse was filled with grains vegetables and meat along with 3 barrels of beer that could last the bandits about 1 month.

The cabins were filled with personal belongings of the bandits, from ragged clothes to rusted weapons and worn out armor pieces.

Theo found the single hut is filled with relatively better things.A nice bed was placed in a corner along with a table and a wardrobe. There was some notebooks, white pages scattered along with a candle stand on the table.

There was even a chest with notable amount of copper and silver coins along with some gold coins in it.

The armors and weapons found in this room were in better condition too.

Victor came back after looting the faraway dead bodies too and saw Theo had finished looting here and now trying out the long sword he found from Jorvas.

" Who knew Jorvas would be here , right Victor? "

"Yeah I have never thought this possibility too. But is it okay to kill him like that my lord? I mean isn't it too early to go against the whole organization?" Victor asked with a concerned look.

" Well, I just wanted to test him. Who knew one of the commanders will be so weak." Theo replied while bringing out two things out of his pocket.

" Take a look. I have found these from Jorvas. A mana crystal and this this large ring. I think he was here for this crystal but I don't know if this ring is valuable too. Who wore this ring? The finger should be big like an Orc. But I don't recall Orcs wearing rings."

Victor leaned and took a good look at the ring. The ring was made with gold with a tiny crystal on top.

" Ahem .. lord.. This is for swords." Victor cough awkwardly while looking away not meeting Theo's eyes.

"Swords? How?" Theo was dumbfounded.

" T-this makes the sword grow my lord." Victor was still looking away ..

Theo took a long glance at the ring.

" Huh? W-Wait... Ewwww..." Theo dropped the ring from his hand and looked at victor. " Please tell me I'm wrong."

Victor was red from the awkwardness," It's true my lord. The ring has a mana crystal with it that can increase the shape of 'that' by a little if the man is not blessed at birth. Jorvas had it so I wonder not all of his swords were long swords." Victor started to suppress his giggles.

Theo giggled a little too, " Come on he is dead, don't embarrass him like that. Go burn the body and this ring too."

" Okay my lord. But I suggest keeping this ring. It is a dwarven technology that could fetch up to 300 gold coins." Victor spoke while grabbing the ring from the ground .

" Oh my God, that is more a peasant man's entire fortune." Theo's eyes lit up from shock. "This alone could solve half of my problem."

" We just earned 350 gold coins from Jorvas alone. Go finish it quickly and take the horses. I can't wait to go back and see Edmund."

Victor quickly finished everything and took the wagon along with horses and both of them started heading back.

The wagon was loaded up to the point that Victor had to load some materials on horse back too. They got 4 horses from the stable and one was missing. Theo was riding the best looking horse that was probably Jorvas's alongside the wagon.

After a while the wagon stopped Infront of the inn while Mirella Edmund and an unknown figure came out....
