Drake's group had been searching the butler's room all along, probably unaware of just how much time passed differently inside compared to the outside. Or even if they had suspected something, they likely didn't care—after all, they wouldn't miss a chance to find clues in the butler's room.
The butler's room wasn't very large, and with so many of them, it didn't take long to search every corner.
Bella jumped down from a tall bookshelf, holding in her hands a notebook wrapped in goatskin. One look was enough to tell it was used to record important things.
She exclaimed happily, "Look! A notebook—this must be the butler's diary!"
She shook the notebook in her hands, releasing a cloud of dust from it, giving the impression that the entire thing was so decayed not a single intact page remained.
However, no matter how decayed it was, it shouldn't have contained that much dust.
Bella and the others quickly realized something was wrong.
