Chapter 86 - Inverse Tohka, The Demon King Descends

"Help me, Jean."

At this point, Professor Charles's condition was rapidly deteriorating.

Even though Apocalypse had withdrawn part of his power, Charles was already on the verge of collapse.

In his sea of consciousness, Apocalypse had taken over the dominant position.

Charles couldn't even move—he was about to be crushed by a single finger.

"..."

After a moment of silence, Jean Grey seemed to make a firm decision, then slowly walked outside.

But what she saw next made her pupils shrink to the size of pinholes.

"Old dog, did you enjoy that punch?"

As that voice fell, Apocalypse immediately stopped walking.

He looked toward the source of the voice behind him and saw Tohka, still pinned to the wall, her eyes completely hidden behind her bangs.

What happened next stunned—and even frightened—him. Tohka's armor, which had previously been like a purple gemstone, began to change drastically.

A layer of black substance slowly covered her, and even the armor's shape changed drastically. That wasn't all—what followed was a change in aura.

Originally, Tohka gave off a calm and gentle vibe. But now, her entire presence became wildly violent.

He could clearly sense it—this Tohka was terrifying. He felt a tremor from the depths of his soul. This power was far greater than before.

"Hmph, that old ghost. Good thing this girl recently obtained the Kabbalah Tree of Life, otherwise these injuries would've been a huge problem."

Ignoring everyone's reactions, the current Tohka—or rather, Demon King Tohka—lowered her gaze to herself, frowning at the sand spikes piercing her body.

Then, with a forceful motion, she shattered all the sharp sand spikes and dropped down.

Everyone watched as Tohka's wounds healed at a speed visible to the naked eye, just like Wolverine. It was as if nothing had happened.

"Well? Old dog, think you can take a hit from me now?" After saying that, Demon King Tohka slowly raised her head and looked coldly at the stunned Apocalypse across from her.

At this moment, everyone clearly saw Tohka's state. Her entire aura had changed. The previous innocent expression was gone, replaced by a chilling grin. Her power rose rapidly, completely suppressing Apocalypse.

"Final Sword (Paivashherev/ ペイヴァーシュヘレヴ)" Demon King Tohka wasn't interested in anyone's reactions. She immediately drew out her strongest weapon. Like before, she summoned her throne, which shattered once again, and a gigantic sword over ten meters long appeared in her hand.

This giant sword closely resembled her previous one, but it carried an even greater sense of pressure.

Looking at it, Apocalypse instinctively knew he couldn't block it. He wanted to open a portal to escape.

But at that moment, he realized he was locked on. If he diverted even a fraction of his attention, an attack would strike him instantly.

In this situation, whether he liked it or not, he had no choice but to face Tohka again.

"Hmph, take this, old ghost." Staring coldly at Apocalypse, Demon King Tohka had no intention of hesitating. She grabbed the massive sword and slashed fiercely at him.

Then, something that shocked everyone happened—Demon King Tohka unleashed her sword energy just like before. But this time, it was even more massive.

Previously, her sword aura had only reached dozens, at most a hundred meters at most. But now, this slash was over a thousand meters long and several meters wide, completely engulfing Apocalypse.

And it didn't stop there—the sword wave tore through Apocalypse, split the earth in two, and then soared into the sky before disappearing from everyone's sight.

Jean Grey, just stepping outside, witnessed this very scene.

Right after, everyone saw that Apocalypse was completely gone—clearly obliterated by Tohka's strike without even a scrap remaining.

Even if Apocalypse had a super healing factor, he was still dead. He wasn't Wolverine—and not everyone's regeneration was as freakish as Deadpool's.

"Hmm."

After finishing off the great enemy, Demon King Tohka maliciously eyed the rest of the group. She wasn't willing to go back just yet—she finally had a chance to have some fun.

But her gaze quickly shifted away, making everyone—including Magneto—breathe a sigh of relief. After all, Magneto had tried to control her giant sword earlier but was shocked to find he couldn't manipulate it at all.

Whether the sword wasn't made of metal or due to some other reason, he simply couldn't control it.

"Huh, is that the Phoenix?"

The reason Demon King Tohka shifted her gaze was because Jean Grey was reminded of what the Professor had once said. The girl in front of her clearly wasn't the same Tohka—it had to be the 'Demon King' Charles mentioned.

"Ah."

Jean Grey no longer hesitated. She fully unleashed the Phoenix Force within her. Massive wings of flame spread from her back.

At the same time, Jean's appearance changed. Flames burned visibly in her pupils, and faint phoenix cries echoed in the air.

"Tch, now that's interesting."

Coldly smirking at the now dazzling Jean Grey, Demon King Tohka raised her shield. She could feel that if she didn't take action now, she'd be completely disintegrated by this woman's power.

Although the Kabbalah Tree of Life could restore her, she wasn't a masochist. The process of destruction and regeneration was enough to drive anyone insane.

"What is this power anyway? That little girl seems to know something. And that damn Kabbalah Tree of Life—I've been asleep too long. I can't even draw out much of its strength now."

Impatiently watching her rapidly thinning shield, which only recovered due to her energy input, she grew frustrated. She wasn't the type to sit around taking hits.

She made up her mind—abruptly stopped supplying energy to the shield. Before it broke, she raised her giant sword and slashed toward the airborne Phoenix.

The sword aura that had annihilated Apocalypse reappeared before everyone once again.
