At dawn, Carine gently roused Lady Runia outside her tent. "My Lady," she whispered softly, "the carriage will arrive at ten in the morning. You must prepare."
Runia sat up, her gaze distant. "I can't wait to return from the capital; I already miss it here," she said, slipping into her sandals. Carine entered the tent and handed her a coat adding, " My Lady, It's said the crown prince is searching for a wife." Carine led her to the dressing table, Runia's eyes widened at the news. "Oh my, a wife? Who might she be, the one who beguiled the crown prince?" she asked. Carine brushed her hair with a gentle smile. "She has yet to be chosen, my Lady," she replied. Runia nodded thoughtfully, a hint of curiosity flickering in her eyes.
"She has yet to be chosen?" Runia gasped
"Worry not my Lady, I doubt his Highness could marry an agent of the force." She tie Runia's hair up in a ponytail "Unless he is eager to lose the crown."
"True" Runia smiled.
"Proceed to dress, my Lady. I will call the carriage," Carine said quietly, leaving her to prepare for the journey ahead.
I wonder if his Highness the crown prince has returned? Fair enough to not bid farewell, Lady Runiasy thought to herself. As she would travel for days Lady Runiasy, she dressed herself in pants, a chemise and a jacket. When she got out of her tent she bid farewell to the soldiers and knights. Oliver, the nephew of General James and a Knight of the force was to accompany her, Lady Runiasy, on her journey.
"Is General J, in the carriage?" Runia asked Carine before entering.
"The general said he will take a horse as he still has a guest to entertain." Carine answered.
"A guest?"
"The Crown Prince of Vernillia, my Lady."
"The Crown Prince?..." Runia muttered entering the carriage.
"Long time no see Lady Runiasy." Oliver bowed seeing her enter the carriage.
"Sir Oliver? It's my pleasure to meet you again," Runia sat down.
"Runia, are you not nervous?"
"Why should I be?"
"Haven't you heard the prince is seeking a wife?" Oliver leaned in closer.
"What makes you think that he will choose me?" Runia looked at Oliver, locking her eyes into his.
"Such a beauty you are Lady Runiasy, too bad you are already taken." Oliver said in a cold tone.
"Oliver?" Runia gasped.
"It seems you are taken by royalty." He continued, Runia closed her eyes, stopping him from reading into her any further.
"Did you perhaps forget how grave this could be, my Lady." Oliver backed away from her.
"Oh believe me I am well aware."
"But you dared?" Oliver was stunned.
"I had no choice, he vowed his existence for me." Runia looked at the window.
"What a gentleman." Oliver sighed.
