The Blurred Man stared up into the sky, his eyes fixed on the remnant traces of Yggdrasil attention.
No mortal could see it but it was there.
The stench of blood. The slight change in the resonance of the world.
But what surprised him the most was the shielding. Even now, he couldn't tell where he could go to face the World Tree directly.
It was hidden so well, that it was a part of the world itself.
He chuckled to himself, marveling on how much his people's greatest mistake had grown.
It had started as a simple experiment. A map of roots that would connect their section of the Abyss to each other.
A means of communication and sharing of information. Something greater than the Akashic Records. Something more… personal.
And it worked!
They'd received everything they'd grown into Yggdrasil, and everything had been going smoothly.
Until the tree gained sentience.
