The wind howled in their ears as they leapt after Ren into the trench. The massive walls of water on either side shimmered as Lilith strained on the hill above, holding it back with all that she had.

Cut into the walls of the trench they were currently falling through were handholds for people to climb down in the unlikely event that the lake was devoid of water, but Ren had no intention of using it.
"Now!" He shouted.
He twisted in midair, summoning Freedom, the blade humming to life as it appeared in his hands, as if it had been waiting for this moment.
He yelled as he pulled his arm back and struck. Freedom curved through the air and with a single vertical slash, cleaved through the lakebed.
