Chapter 87 - Chapter 87: Getting More and More Excited – David’s Forced Kiss in the Sea of Corpses!

"Money?!"

Yoko Taro endured the sharp pain in his thigh, sweat pouring down his face as he stammered, "Money… I-I have it! I have it!"

With great effort, he reached behind his ear and pulled out a chip from the card slot. His trembling hands stretched forward. "Here… here… this chip contains all the profits from the Tiger Claw Gang's venues. It should be enough—enough to buy my life!"

David took the chip and handed it to Lucy.

Lucy quickly inserted it and scanned the data inside. Her pupils shrank as the screen displayed:

"Arasaka Bank: Deposit 47,0931,000 Eurodollars."

Rounding up, that was approximately 50 million!

Compared to the bounties they had received from previous missions, this amount was staggering.

Lucy, who had never seen so much money in her life, struggled to process it.

If 750,000 Eurodollars was enough to fulfill her dream, then how many dreams could she buy with 50 million?

"How much?" David asked, his voice tinged with excitement.

Lucy snapped out of her shock. "More than 47 million."

David's eyes widened before a wild grin spread across his face. "Hehehe… is this the power of capitalists?"

In Night City, the cruel disparity was evident—those at the bottom worked their entire lives, yet in the eyes of the elite, their savings couldn't even afford a single extravagant dinner.

Yoko Taro, seeing David's sinister smile, assumed he was still unsatisfied. Desperation seeped into his voice.

"Brother… if you think it's not enough, I—I have more! I have cash too! It's in the safe!"

His hand trembled as he pointed towards the hidden weapon wall in the darkroom. "Behind that wall… If you don't believe me, you can check yourself!"

More money?!

David raised an eyebrow and casually waved his hand.

With a loud crack, the entire metal wall collapsed, revealing a massive safe—nearly two meters high and three meters wide.

David didn't bother asking for the password. The excitement in his scarlet eyes deepened.

He raised his hand and made a simple gesture.

Click—!

Kakakaka—!!

The heavy metal door of the safe groaned under immense pressure, bending and twisting unnaturally.

At the same time, veins bulged on David's forehead.

Even Yoko Taro himself knew how strong that safe was—machine guns, grenades, even high-powered explosives wouldn't be able to breach it easily.

Yet, right before his eyes, David ripped the entire iron door off its hinges from a distance!

With a final BOOM, the door crashed onto the wooden floor—smashing straight through it!

Within seconds, the safe's heavy door fell from the third floor to the second… and then to the first!

A deep silence followed.

Both Lucy and Yoko Taro were in complete shock.

How much power did this monster have?!

Yoko Taro's remaining leg shook uncontrollably. His face turned pale, whispering, "M-Monster… f**k… he's a monster…!"

His mind reeled. The safe was supposed to be impenetrable. Yet, with a single gesture, David had torn it open!

As the dust settled, the contents inside the safe were revealed—

Money.

Piles upon piles of cash!

The entire safe was stuffed with neatly stacked banknotes.

Even with a rough estimate, there had to be at least 20 million Eurodollars in cash.

David's breathing grew heavier, his excitement becoming almost feverish. His eyes burned as he grinned.

"Lucy… look at this!" he said, nearly trembling.

"Uh… yeah, that's a lot," Lucy replied, but her focus wasn't on the money. She looked at David, concern growing in her eyes.

Something was wrong.

David wasn't just excited—he looked completely consumed by something.

"David, are you okay?" she asked cautiously.

"I feel great," David chuckled, his voice lower than usual. "Did you see it? We made it tonight!"

Lucy hesitated. "But I still think—"

Before she could finish her sentence, David pulled her close and kissed her.

Their lips met.

For a moment, the world stood still.

Lucy's eyes widened in shock.

David's gaze was wild, filled with unrestrained desire.

"Lucy," he whispered, breathing heavily, "from today onward, we are the legends of Night City!"

Then, before she could react—

He kissed her again.

This time, more desperately.

Like a man dying of thirst, desperately seeking water.

Lucy hesitated, her body stiff—

But something about David's intensity pulled her in.

Her lips parted slightly, and she found herself responding.

In the middle of a sea of mutilated corpses, the two of them kissed passionately.

"Brother, brother… I-I gave you all my money," Yoko Taro suddenly whimpered.

He was still kneeling on the ground, witnessing the strangest scene—his captors making out amidst the bloodbath.

He pleaded for his life.

"I… can I… live now—AH!!"

Before he could finish, David casually reached out and squeezed his forehead.

CRACK—!!

His skull shattered like a watermelon.

His pleas ceased instantly.

Only the sound of David and Lucy's passionate kiss remained.

After a long moment, Lucy finally pulled away, panting slightly.

"David… Jack is still waiting below. We need to move fast before the LAN signal blocker wears off. If the NCPD or Trauma Team picks it up, we're screwed."

David nodded. "Get Jack up here. We're loading up and leaving."

His excitement began to fade, replaced by exhaustion.

Lucy understood. She quickly sent a message to Jack.

Moments later, Jack burst into the building.

The moment he stepped inside, his jaw dropped.

"F**k…!" Jack muttered, taking in the carnage. "What the hell happened in here?!"

He made his way up, avoiding severed limbs and pools of blood.

When he finally reached the third floor, he saw David and Lucy standing among the corpses.

David looked utterly drained, leaning slightly against Lucy for support.

"David, you good?" Jack asked cautiously. "F**k, man… did you do all this alone?"

"Haha… stop wasting time," David chuckled weakly, pointing at the open safe. "Grab the money. We're leaving."

Jack peered inside—and froze.

His eyes widened.

"Fk… fk!!"

He let out a stunned laugh. "Holy sh*t! This is the most cash I've ever seen in my life!"

"Jack, there's no time to gawk," Lucy snapped. "Pack it up, now!"

"Oh, oh! Right!"

Jack grabbed the three large duffel bags stored inside the safe and quickly stuffed them full of stacks of bills.

Each bag weighed over 100 kilograms.

Jack groaned. "Damn… good thing I got a cyber-enhanced body, or I wouldn't be able to lift this much!"

"David, what now?" Jack asked. "Should we just run? The NCPD will be all over this place soon!"

David sighed. "I've got it covered."

They headed downstairs.

As they exited, David turned to the building and narrowed his scarlet eyes.

A black, cursed flame erupted.

"Amaterasu—!"

The Tiger Claw Gang's headquarters was engulfed in black fire.

Jack paled. "Holy sh*t—Eastern black magic again?!"

David smirked weakly. "Heh… think whatever you want."

He took a step forward—

Then collapsed.

"David!!" Lucy's panicked voice was the last thing he heard before darkness consumed him.
