Chapter 32 - Chapter 5: Yamcha's Elimination

Goku was the last to draw his number, but the host mispronounced his name. After Yamcha corrected the host, Goku drew number '7', placing him against Giran in the third match.

This also meant that if John and Goku defeated their opponents, they would face each other in the semifinals.

Upon learning this, John and Goku locked eyes, and Goku excitedly said, "John, we can finally have a real fight!"

John replied, "Goku, I won't hold back!"

Their fighting spirit was so intense that the surrounding spectators shivered.

A loud gong reverberated throughout the venue, signaling the start of the finals.

The first match was Krillin against the Wild Man. For John, who already knew the outcome, this match was not worth watching, especially since the Wild Man's body odor was unbearable. John preferred to stay in the resting area, adjusting his mental state and continuing his training in acting before thinking.

As John entered a meditative state, the surrounding noise gradually faded from his ears.

Soon, Goku and Krillin joined him.

Krillin excitedly said to John, "John, did you see that? I won! I won! I'm in the semifinals!"

John smiled and nodded, "Krillin, I knew it. The Wild Man was no match for you. You didn't disappoint us."

Hearing John's praise, Krillin beamed with joy.

At that moment, Goku said, "John, the next match is Yamcha's. Let's go cheer for him."

John nodded in agreement. Krillin had won, so it was understandable if he didn't watch the match, believing in his strength.

However, the same couldn't be said for Yamcha. Since his opponent was Master Roshi, who was almost certain to defeat him, John felt the need to cheer for Yamcha.

Soon, the second match was about to begin, and they all headed towards the platform to watch Master Roshi face off against Yamcha.

Goku perched on a brick wall, shouting, "Yamcha, go for it!"

The spectators around the platform saw two contestants on the platform: a handsome young man with a wild look and an elderly man with gray hair. They all cheered for Yamcha.

Only a few male spectators, feeling envious of Yamcha's looks, cheered for Master Roshi.

Master Roshi, hearing the cheers for himself from the few spectators, felt displeased. He was determined to teach this young man a lesson.

A loud gong signaled the start of the second match.

Master Roshi casually stood on the platform, his body full of openings, each seemingly vulnerable to attack.

Goku and Krillin were surprised by Master Roshi's stance.

John explained, "You can tell that this Jackie Chun is a skilled fighter. He appears to have many openings, but his opponents can't decide which ones are real and which are fake. It's impossible to know which openings are genuine and which are feints."

"There's no doubt that Yamcha is in danger in this match."

As he spoke, John turned his attention to Yamcha, who had assumed an offensive posture but hesitated to launch an attack. Yamcha had also noticed this.

Unfortunately, there was nothing he could do to change his situation.

The spectators grew impatient as the two contestants on the platform failed to engage in combat. They began to jeer, especially the male spectators who disliked Yamcha's appearance.

Under the pressure of the crowd, Yamcha leaped forward and attacked Master Roshi. Unfortunately, the skill gap between them was too wide, and Master Roshi easily dodged each of Yamcha's attacks.

As he dodged, Master Roshi said, "Young man, you're wasting too much energy with your ineffective attacks."

"Martial arts combat isn't about looking cool or posing. The most important thing is to strike your opponent."

"If you can't strike your opponent, all your posing is just a waste of energy." With that, Master Roshi jumped and dodged Yamcha's pounce, landing behind him.

Yamcha, facing an opponent who stood with his hands behind his back and made no attempt to counterattack, became increasingly frustrated. He knew he was no match for this old man, but the opponent's attitude was extremely condescending.

Yamcha angrily said, "Are you looking down on me?"

"Young man, don't be so hot-headed," Master Roshi replied. "I'm not counterattacking because I want to see more of your moves. If I attack, I'm afraid you won't be able to block a single one."

Yamcha became even more enraged and shouted, "Don't look down on me! Attack me if you dare, and don't make me look down on you!"

Master Roshi felt he had played around enough, and it was time to end the fight. He lowered his hands, which had been behind his back, and said, "Since you insist, I'll attack. Be careful."

Hearing that Jackie Chun was finally going to make his move, Yamcha assumed a defensive stance, determined to withstand as many of his opponent's attacks as possible and avoid a humiliating defeat.

Master Roshi slowly extended his hands, then clasped them together, gathering energy in his palms.

The scene was familiar to the surrounding spectators, who turned to look at John. John had used this same technique to eliminate his opponent earlier.

Yamcha, also a contestant on Platform 1, had witnessed John's previous match and immediately understood Jackie Chun's intention. He shouted, "Don't look down on me!"

As he spoke, Yamcha crossed his arms in front of his chest and assumed a bow stance, preparing to defend against Jackie Chun's attack.

The spectators, unsure of what was happening, began to call for the two contestants on the platform to continue fighting. However, before they could finish their sentence, Master Roshi had already gathered his energy. He raised his hands and, with a powerful swing, unleashed a gust of wind.

The swirling dust caused the spectators to close their eyes. Yamcha, directly in the path of the wind, managed to withstand it for two seconds before being blown off the platform.

When the spectators opened their eyes, they saw that Yamcha had been eliminated. They stood in silence, unsure of what had just happened.

It wasn't until the host announced, "Jackie Chun wins!" that the audience erupted into applause.
