"What is wrong with my memory!" Ginny couldn't bear to stay at her little desk any longer. The more she recalled and thought about it, the more her body trembled, her hands and feet turning cold.
With a "whoosh," Ginny quickly burrowed into her bed. Only by wrapping herself completely in the comforting thickness of her quilt could she calm her restless heart.
With her head under the covers, Ginny finally quieted down. She confirmed repeatedly that she had indeed forgotten what had happened on those previous nights.
Back then, no matter how late it was, her memory could only linger on...
...chatting with Tom Riddle's diary.
"Right, I wanted to throw away that diary!" A flash of inspiration broke through the icy surface of her memory, revealing decisions and thoughts from recent days. Ginny, suddenly enlightened, poked her head out of the covers with a serious expression. Her instincts told her that thing was no good!
She now realized that she had tried to take such action several times before but, for some unknown reason, had always dismissed the idea.
Feeling exceptionally clear-headed, Ginny thought, if not now, when would be a better time to get rid of that diary?
Hurry and find a random place to dump it!
Ginny lifted the covers, her small feet almost touching the ground, but hesitated to land.
"If there's really something wrong with this diary, and I just toss it outside... what if someone else picks it up and gets harmed?" Ginny hesitated, her inherent kindness briefly pulling her out of her impulsive thoughts.
"...what if someone else gets it and they get hurt too?"
Little Ginny grimaced and pulled her feet back.
"Why not burn it?" Back under the covers, Ginny frowned, pondering the feasibility of various disposal methods. "If I burn it, no one else would get hurt."
Glancing at the fireplace burning with roaring flames, Ginny made up her mind.
Burn it!
No sooner said than done, Ginny once again threw off the covers, intending to get out of bed.
Sneaking over to her desk, Ginny took a deep breath, ready to open the drawer where the diary was kept.
With a sudden pull, Ginny grabbed the diary and was about to dash towards the fireplace.
...
Ginny's movements halted, her face twisting from fear and determination...
Finally, it transformed into a sweet smile.
She sat down obediently with a smile, opened the diary, picked up a quill, and began her nightly personal life sharing time with Senior Tom.
"Hello, Senior Tom, I've encountered quite a few things today. The Duel Club activity I mentioned before finally took place today..."
...
Today, little Ginny's chat with little Tom was as usual...
Ginny's eyes were smiling yet weary, her quill never stopping, furiously writing down everything that happened today in the diary.
A phantom figure hovered beside Ginny, arms crossed, concentrating on sensing the memories he extracted from Ginny's mind through the diary, while frantically absorbing the soul energy from the soul Ginny opened to him.
Handling the childish worries of a teenage girl no longer interested Tom in this silly girl's personal thoughts. He simply ignored that part, focusing on extracting the memories from Ginny that concerned him more.
"Harry... Potter..." Feeling the scenes in Ginny's memory, tinted with romantic filters about Harry, little Tom's expression was indescribable.
He truly couldn't understand how such a silly fool managed to kill his future self during his infancy?!
From the external information Ginny provided over time, little Tom had learned that his future self became a feared Dark Lord.
"But how am I supposed to accept that my future self could die at the hands of someone who can't even cast a proper offensive spell now?!"
"Hmm?!"
Reading the scenes in his mind, watching Harry slowly cast a sluggish Tarantallegra at his opponent, then inexplicably getting hit by a Leg-Locker Curse from a certain fair-haired boy and falling flat on his face, Tom, unable to glean more details from Ginny, was nearly at his breaking point, feeling incredibly conflicted.
"What kind of Dark Lord are you?!"
"..."
"...Life is like a play, because of fate we meet, supporting each other to old age is not easy, shouldn't we cherish it more, getting angry over small things, think about it later, why bother, if others are angry I won't be, getting sick from anger benefits no one, if I'm angry who benefits, besides it harms the spirit and wastes energy, don't compete with neighbors and friends, let children's trivial matters be..."
"Huff... huff..."
"Inhale... exhale..."
On the verge of losing his little soul from anger, Tom quickly took deep breaths to calm himself.
Yet even so, that inexplicable feeling lingered in his heart.
And this feeling continued to settle, ferment, and eventually changed his original goal.
Tom's goal was no longer to purge Hogwarts of impure bloodlines.
He wanted to kill Harry Potter!
Tom, filled with malice, began planning for the future, feeling the continuous but much reduced soul energy flowing from Ginny. He clicked his tongue in dissatisfaction.
"This body is truly weak, just a short period of absorption and her soul energy is almost depleted?"
"It seems it's time to find another host to provide nourishment before this one is completely drained..."
"How about finding an opportunity to have her give me to Harry Potter?"
Tom pondered, then shook his head as if to deny himself.
"Not feasible."
"Although this girl has started to suspect me, her suspicion is not enough to completely break free from the curse I set on the diary..."
"The abnormalities happening to her are not sufficient."
"I need to give her a stronger dose."
"Let her control the Serpent to attack a Muggle, that should be enough to mentally shock her."
"Yes, preferably a Muggle related to Harry Potter... let her investigate it first."
"Meanwhile, I can squeeze out her last bit of value... but speaking of which, why would someone cast a spell on the stupid chickens in Hagrid's coop?!"
...
Already lying in bed asleep, Glenn sneezed in his dream.
