Chapter 45 - Information

One month later,

Lau arrived at the academy, where he took the element attribute test. To everyone's surprise, his attributes were found to be thunder and wood. Lau deliberately hid his other attribute with the system's help.

Despite the astonishment of many students and teachers, no one said anything. Most newly arrived students from different empires were to remain in the outer academy until the inner academy entrance exam the following year.

Upon arriving at the outer academy, Lau was allowed to choose a black rank cultivation technique for either the thunder or wood attribute.

He ultimately chose the thunder attribute, although he planned to practice his cultivation technique, the 'Yin-Yang Heavenly Thunder Technique,' instead. He took the black rank technique mainly for formality, intending to show others that he was practicing it.

After completing his tests and selecting his technique, Lau decided to maintain a low profile, deliberately showcasing his supposed lack of cultivation talent and poor skills.

He also utilized his Shadow Emperor token to gather information about the Black Region, where the academy was located, using connections from the Dark Shadow Alliance.

Lau collected extensive information about the various powers in the region, including their strengths, weaknesses, techniques, and members.

He discovered potential candidates he could recruit for the alliance's external branch. Most of these individuals were wandering cultivators without the support of a sect or clan, and their cultivation levels were generally not very strong, often around the Duo Grandmaster realm.

Nevertheless, Lau saw the value in these individuals and considered using them in his branch, even though he had not yet decided on a name for it.

After gathering this information, Lau used his authority to identify those individuals who were undervalued or overlooked by their clans or sects.

He aimed to find these cultivators and invite them to cultivate within the powerful environment of his branch. While these individuals may have been deemed unimportant by their clans or sects, Lau recognized them as treasures that could change the world.

Later that afternoon, while training in his designated residence provided by the academy, Lau heard a knock on his door.
