Kian grabbed a sword and looked around for anything else. Surprisingly he found a bell.
It was on a very old string and would most likely rip off of it and also the bell itself had cracks that could easily become even bigger cracks after a few rings.
Dang it
He back at the monster who was still moving franticly.
"In one life. I'll kill you!"
Kian walked up with the monster with the bell and sword.
Okay if I do this correctly I can win this once and for all. I have a sword and a busted up bell. This monster can't hear or see me, but it's tentacles can and are pretty sensitive to sound. However only the ones closest to me can sense me, meaning they probably have a range.
He gripped the sword. He turned towards the girl who was sitting on her butt in the dead grass messing with some of the withered flowers.
He then turned back to the monster. Then he took one step then another.
The monster's tentacles glowed and it looked his way, but he didn't stop. He gripped the bell and rose it above him.
Then he rung it. "COME AND GET ME!"
The monster roared and ran to the sound, but unexpectedly it threw a hand towards Kian's side and sent him tumbling.
To make matters worse the bell rang since it hit the ground making a loud enough sound for the tentacles to react to.
The monster immediately ran over to it. Kian wasn't worried about himself though because the bell wasn't in his hand anymore actually it was a bit ahead of him.
What he was worried about was the monster crushing his one advantage.
He jumped ahead and grabbed it, but the monster had already gotten there and his collapse made a sound.
The monster rose it arms and brought them down upon Kian, but once it did it jumped back and roared in pain.
It's hand dripped a black liquid, blood. Below it was Kian in pain yes, but also holding a sword. He may have dropped the bell, but he didn't drop the sword.
Once he got the strength to move he ran has far as he could before the monster could get him.
He looked at the bell and his eyes widened in fear. The bell had an even larger crack.
As Kian looked up he caught a glimpse of the approaching monster and only had a second to react before it swung it's hand down.
He dodged, but the bell rang alerting the monster of his position. It swung it's hand into his side.
He landed hard on the ground and the monster began to approach the ringing that happened once again from Kian's fall.
If started roaring and slamming its fists into the ground until it reached Kian.
Kian tried to stand, but as soon as he did, the monster slammed its fist into his gut sending him upward and sending the bell flying from his hand. He landed hard into the ground making him cough out blood.
It didn't stop there though it ran over and slammed its fist into him repeatedly. Then to finish him off it raises its fist with its other hand cupped around it and prepares to bring it down upon him.
But Kian thrusts his sword into its abdomen, but it doesn't pierce deeply. So Kian puts his hands on the back of the sword and leans back and throws himself forward forcing the dagger deeper.
The monster roars and begins beating Kian along with stabbing him over and over with it's tentacles.
He screams as he leans back once more and pushed forward thrust it even deeper drawing more blood.
This time the monster digs its claws into his back and throws him away.
He hits the ground hard and tumbles. Groaning and bleeding. He looks at the bell and reaches a hand as if he could use some form of magic to bring it to him.
He could bleed out... The monster could break the bell... He would lose again and have to do it all over with the risk of the monster not being able to be fooled again.
He grunted as he tried to stand, but feel back down. He grabbed the sword that wasn't to far from him and used it like a cane.
He walked over to the monster which was roaring and grabbing at it's abdomen.
He took a breath thinking of the pain he was about to endure for the plan he had conjured.
He gripped the sword and yelled alerting the monster then he used all his strength to jump up and upon falling he struck the monster's right shoulder.
The monster roared and grabbed him and threw him.
Just as planned he landed hard near the bell. Not only that the monsters right shoulder was now messed up.
He grabbed the bell and stood. He limped a bit, but still used the sword to hold himself up.
Kian gripped the bell ring it yelling once the monster's tentacles reacted it ran over to him he gripped the robe of the bell tightly and once the monster got close enough he swung his arms despite the pain and threw it over the monster's head leading it to think he was doing another skyward attack.
But that wasn't the case at all. Kian ran over to almost falling and thrust the sword into the monster's abdomen then he stabbed it again and again cutting it open.
The monster roared and grabbed him, so he thrust the sword into its arm and swung bring it out creating deep cut.
The monster threw him upward and his sword flew up out of his hands.
This moment meant everything, if he didn't catch it, he'd be killed for sure. Yet even if he did catch it, the monster could still kill him with him not being able to dodge.
His middle finger and soon enough another then another, then his whole hand.
As he fell the tentacles rose up to try and kill him.
One cut his side, another stabbed his back and another his upper right leg and left thigh.
He gripped the sword in reverse grip gritting his teeth in pain.
The monster roared as Kian fell and soon...
Kian woke up, He sighed. So I died... I'm not going back home am I?
A tear fell down his cheek, the monster probably knows exactly how to counter everything now.
Yet, something felt off. His side still hurt, his head and body still kept banging at him. His back was on fire, hell everything was in pain.
He tried to lift his arm it was hard but he managed and saw his bloody hand.
So I didn't die, but did it?
He managed to get himself on his knees and saw the creature right before him, Motionless. He crawled up to it his body screaming for him to stop, but he had to see and as he thought yep, he ended it. It's eyes stared aimlessly and the sword he used went through the top of its head and through its mouth and most likely to it neck.
He let out a sigh of relief before falling on the ground. But wait! He still had to do something. Last time he killed it, it still didn't work.
What didn't he do last time?
Trial... Trail... Wait...Trail of The Royal of Kings... It's supposed to train me right?
What if...
He crawled towards the girl and takes a deep breath to control his mind.
"What is you name... I never asked?"
The girl smiled "Lux and I am your Right Hand, Master Kian."
"I won..." He looked her in the eye "I survived the Mind Trail... In one life. Now let me return."
"As you wish master Kian."
She snapped her fingers and the world began to slowly disappear.
