Liam didn't disclose much about Mew and Mewtwo. He simply proposed a research direction and designated Blaine as the primary researcher for this project.
Miyamoto didn't ask further questions; instead, she took the fossil pendant Liam had returned and hurried toward Giovanni's office—clearly to report the matter.
Liam didn't accompany her, as there was no need. He knew Giovanni would certainly agree. This was the trust between them—Liam trusted Giovanni, and Giovanni trusted Liam.
Taking advantage of this time, Liam opened the system's exchange list and searched for anything related to Mewtwo. There were all sorts of options—destruction factors, evolution stones, and more—all available for exchange at any time.
However, none of these were what Liam was looking for. He wanted data on Mewtwo's genetic cultivation.
After searching for a while, he finally found it—but the price was staggering. A complete and perfect Mewtwo genetic cultivation guide cost a whopping 100,000 exchange points.
By following the instructions in the guide, one could create a Mewtwo with both a sound mind and a perfectly developed body.
Liam glanced at his current exchange points—less than 8,000. In the end, he silently closed the system's exchange interface.
Not long after, Miyamoto returned and approached Liam.
"Boss Giovanni has approved it. We'll quickly assign personnel and start the research as soon as possible. The lead researcher will be Blaine, as you suggested. I'm curious about the details, but I won't pry. If there's anything else you need, just tell me—I'll do my best to help."
Liam shook his head, then gave Miyamoto an apologetic look.
"Sorry for troubling you with this. I can't explain everything right now, but I can assure you that this research will be valuable for Team Rocket's future. I hope Giovanni will keep a close eye on it."
Miyamoto nodded seriously and said, "Yes, I'll personally oversee this research to make sure nothing goes wrong. You can rest assured."
Liam twitched his lips slightly, thinking about Mewtwo Strikes Back, but he couldn't say much more. He sighed lightly, deciding to let things take their course without interfering too much.

Leaving Viridian City behind and bidding farewell to Miyamoto, Liam continued his journey on his speed bike, heading toward the Kanto League's headquarters—the Indigo Plateau.
Riding east out of Viridian City, he followed a smooth road. Before long, he could see the terrain gradually rising into a plateau, and his cycling speed slowed until he eventually had to stop completely.
"Phew… So exhausting! Why is this place so far? Ugh… I'm dying here. Arcanine, come out!"
At times like these, he had to rely on Arcanine. Liam quickly stored his speed bike, turned, and climbed onto Arcanine's back. With a deep growl, Arcanine took off at full speed.
By now, Liam was wearing much thicker clothing than he had a few months ago—no longer having to worry about the friction on his backside.
Arcanine sprinted down the road like a red blur, the scenery flashing past in a blur.
Liam lay flat against Arcanine's broad back, gripping tightly with both hands, afraid that if he loosened his grip even slightly, he'd be thrown off. At this extreme speed, flying off would probably be fatal.
After maintaining the breakneck pace for a while, Arcanine's speed gradually slowed, panting heavily. It was clear the intense run had drained a lot of its stamina.
Arcanine had excellent stats across the board, except for one weakness—stamina. It couldn't sustain high-intensity movement for long, continuous periods.
This was why Liam had to be extra careful when using recoil-heavy moves like Flare Blitz; otherwise, Arcanine could end up knocking itself out.
"Alright, Arcanine, slow down and rest for a bit. You've done well."
"Arroo…"
Sensing that Arcanine was reaching its limit, Liam quickly ordered it to stop.
"You've worked hard, buddy. Here, open your mouth—have some milk to recover your stamina. We're almost there. After this, you can rest, and I'll handle the rest of the journey myself."
"Woof~"
Liam jumped off Arcanine's back, hugged its large head, and pulled out a bottle of Moomoo Milk. He poured the entire thing into Arcanine's mouth.
Seeing Arcanine happily gulp down the milk, Liam took out a PokeBall and recalled it, then adjusted his backpack and continued walking along the path.
After a long journey, Liam finally arrived at the entrance to the Kanto League tournament grounds.
Standing at the grand entrance, he took in the view. Since this was a plateau, all the buildings were built at different elevations, creating a layered landscape.
Even from the entrance, he could see the main League stadium towering at the very top of the plateau. Surrounding the massive circular stadium were numerous other structures that dotted the landscape.
Stepping through the League gates, Liam entered a building marked with the Pokémon Center symbol.
Though the tournament hadn't started yet, the place was already packed with people—mostly young trainers, though he spotted a few older ones as well.
Liam walked to the counter, where a Nurse Joy was stationed, and placed his trainer ID and eight Gym Badges on the counter.
"Hello, I'm Liam from Pallet Town. I'm here to register for the League tournament."
The moment Liam finished speaking, he felt multiple gazes lock onto him. He turned slightly and noticed several people staring at him—many with envious, even resentful expressions.
"Huh? What's going on?" he muttered to himself.
Nurse Joy chuckled. "Oh, it's nothing. They're just jealous that you managed to collect all eight badges. Many of them haven't gathered enough Gym Badges to qualify, so when they see you presenting yours, well… this happens. Just ignore them. Hahaha~"
After thoroughly checking Liam's ID and badges, she quickly completed the registration, then handed everything back to him with a bright smile—her eyes full of schadenfreude.
Liam: "…"
Expressionless, he took his ID and badges, turned to leave—but just as he was about to walk away, Nurse Joy suddenly called out loudly.
"Hey! Where are you going?"
Liam stopped and turned back, puzzled. "Huh?"
"You're now a League tournament participant! Until the tournament ends, you're entitled to stay in the luxurious Trainer Village! Unlike those who didn't qualify, you don't have to camp out in the streets. Would you like us to arrange a room for you? It's just 500 PokéDollars per night, and it comes with full meals, a hot bath, and everything you need!"
Her voice rang out loud and clear.
The moment she finished speaking, Liam could feel the stares behind him intensify—growing even more envious, even more murderous. A cold shiver ran down his spine.
Looking at Nurse Joy's ever-sunny smile, Liam screamed internally:
The Nurse Joy I know isn't this devious!
