Eddie helped Misty to the Pokémon Center, where she was quickly treated and discharged within an hour.
Thanks to the existence of Pokémon, this world is filled with incredible technology. One of the most advanced medical breakthroughs allows both humans and Pokémon to recover from severe injuries—even broken limbs—so long as they are still alive.
Although Misty looked as if she were on the brink of collapse after being attacked by Gyarados, her injuries were actually superficial. The real reason she fainted was due to exhaustion.
"You mean that Gyarados was your Pokémon? It was stolen a week ago, and you've been searching for it ever since? But when you finally found it, it had already gone berserk?"
Misty had woken up, and Eddie had pieced together the general situation.
"Yes, I put in a lot of effort to track it down. I thought I could take it back easily once I found it, but it went wild and attacked me," Misty explained. The week-long search had exhausted her, but the real shock came when her own Pokémon turned against her. The combination of physical and emotional strain caused her to collapse the moment she felt safe.
"Luckily, you were there to help me. My name is Misty, and I'm a Trainer from Cerulean City. Thank you for your kindness."
Now fully recovered, Misty introduced herself and expressed her gratitude to Eddie.
"It was nothing. Anyone would have stepped in to help in that situation. My name is Morning Sun, and I'm a Rookie Trainer from Pallet Town," Eddie replied.
He wasn't lying—most players encountering this event would have rushed to help, hoping to trigger a hidden quest. Even if there were no rewards, building goodwill with NPCs was always beneficial.
Still, Misty's introduction aligned with the plot in his memory.
But Eddie was curious—did Misty recognize his in-game name?
Professor Oak, Brock, and Gary had figured it out yesterday, but Misty had been preoccupied with searching for her stolen Gyarados. Perhaps she hadn't heard his name yet.
"A Rookie Trainer from Pallet Town? You're a lot stronger than the usual ones," Misty commented, focusing on his title rather than his name.
Then, as if remembering something, she continued, "Morning Sun, if you're free, I'd like to ask for your help in finding the villains who stole my Pokémon."
"Ding! Cerulean City Trainer Misty seeks your help. You have triggered the hidden quest: 'Misty's Request'!"
"Quest Objective: Find and identify the thief who stole Misty's Pokémon!"
It seemed Misty truly didn't recognize his name. Eddie easily read her expression and accepted the expected quest without hesitation.
"Of course, I also want to find out who's behind this. Stealing Pokémon is unforgivable," he said, casually condemning the thief.
Though, in reality, Eddie already knew who was responsible—after all, he clearly remembered this storyline from his past life.
"I just met them yesterday, and now I've run into them again today..."
"It seems that I'm destined to be at odds with Team Rocket," Eddie muttered under his breath. He spoke so quietly that Misty, standing beside him, didn't hear.
"Thank you, Morning Sun! Let's go find them right away—there's no time to waste!" Misty said eagerly.
She was delighted that Morning Sun had accepted her request without hesitation, and her opinion of him improved.
Ding! Due to your actions, Misty's favorability towards you has increased! It has now reached 'Friendly'!
Eddie smirked slightly, thinking that raising favorability was easier than expected.
"Hold on, no need to rush. We don't even know where they are right now, and searching blindly would just waste energy," he said calmly. Since he had accepted the quest, he intended to complete it efficiently.
Seeing Misty's impatience, Eddie continued with a thoughtful analysis.
"I'll ask Professor Oak. He knows a lot—maybe he can give us some useful information."
Even though Eddie already knew who the culprits were, Misty didn't, and he had no concrete proof to directly accuse Team Rocket. He needed to guide Misty to the truth in a way that made sense.
Asking Professor Oak, a renowned Pokémon expert, was the perfect way to do that. Eddie would act as if he were clueless and let Professor Oak lead them toward Team Rocket's involvement. That way, Misty would come to the realization on her own.
"Professor Oak? You mean the famous Pokémon expert? Oh, right! I almost forgot—you're from Pallet Town, so of course you'd know him!" Misty said excitedly.
Professor Oak was a well-known authority in the Pokémon world. If they could get his help, finding the thieves would be much easier.
Without wasting time, Eddie used the Pokémon Center's communication system to call Professor Oak and also took the opportunity to transfer the extra Pokémon he had captured.
