"Is the Director here?"
A colleague he ran into on the road shook his head, "I don't know. Probably here. He's been staying in the office these past few days, it's the end of the year, the higher-ups want achievements, he must be cooped up in his office working on that."
Zheng Dazhi nodded, exchanged a few words, and then walked alone towards Cheng Gong's office.
Sure enough, the Director was inside. Through the window, one could see the big-eared Director sitting at his desk reading documents.
Zheng Dazhi knocked on the door twice, and a voice from inside said, "Come in."
"Oh, it's Dazhi ah, coming so early in the morning, what's the matter? Is there something?"
Cheng Gong was very polite; his name suited him well as he was quite successful. It wasn't clear if the man made the name, or the name made the man.
Zheng Dazhi closed the door and said, "Nothing much, I just wanted to have a few words with you."
