Chapter 39 - ch-39

Facing Hermione's doubts, Tom said confidently: "Of course I'm here for a night tour, just like you guys."

Hermione wanted to complain about why Tom could speak so openly of a serious violation of school rules, but she did not forget that there were pursuers behind her.

He took Tom's hand and ran forward, "Filch is behind us, let's hide quickly."

So Tom watched helplessly as four people with poor sense of direction led him into a dead end.

There was a door at the end of the corridor, and it was still locked.

"It's over." Ronald, who hadn't noticed the extra person at all, whimpered and his legs went weak. He could already hear footsteps. It was Filch and his cat.

"Get out of the way!"

Hermione roughly pushed Ronald aside and pointed her wand at the door.

"Alaho hole open!"

With a click, the door opened, and the five people hid inside, listening to the quarrel between Filch and Peeves, and finally the footsteps became farther and farther away.

"We're saved?" Harry whispered.

"Gudong——!"

Neville swallowed hard, pulled Harry's sleeve, and said in a slightly crying tone: "No, we are hopeless."

Several people turned around in confusion, not knowing why Neville said that, and then they found out - it turned out that behind this door was not a classroom, but a corridor.

At the end of the corridor, there is a huge dog with three heads, whose body fills all the space between the floor and the ceiling.

What made them even more desperate was that there were three heads and six eyes staring at them without blinking, with ferocious eyes and disgusting saliva flowing from their mouths.

They were very familiar with that look, it was exactly the same as the way they looked at their midnight snacks.

roar--!

Angry roars came from the three dog heads at the same time.

Hermione turned around and was about to open the door.

She would rather be caught by Filch than become this monster's meal.

However, in order to prevent Filch from opening the door and coming in to check, she pressed the lock button just now.

As a result, the old door lock malfunctioned and the button would not pop out.

"Tom, no, come back!"

What scared Hermione was that the big dog had already pounced on him, but instead of retreating, Tom took the initiative to meet it.

"Fainted!"

White light shot out and accurately hit the head in the middle of the three-headed dog.

The head let out a cry of pain, but only a white mark was left. Instead of stopping it, it angered it.

"I knew I couldn't be so gentle."

Tom muttered, his wrist shaking rapidly.

"Concussion Impact!"

"Hurricane Blade!"

"Sweeping away everything in its path!"

Harry and the others looked at Tom in shock.

He was like a magic turret, continuously releasing spells they had heard of and not heard of.

The light of the spells flew around the room.

The three-headed dog was too big.

No matter how they shot, they could hit it accurately.

There was no need to consider the accuracy at all.

It was enough to just use the magic power.

The damage caused by a single spell might be limited, but when these spells are stacked together, even a creature with thick skin and flesh like it cannot withstand it and will retreat wailing.

Finally, they sat at the end of the corridor, with their three big heads buried, sobbing constantly.

It actually sounds a bit pitiful.

Tom also stopped his attack at the right time and turned back to look at Hermione, "Is the door not fixed yet?"

"Ah? Oh."

The little witch came to her senses and remembered their situation, and hurriedly continued to fiddle with the broken door lock.

Ten seconds later, with a click, the door was opened again.

Ronald almost squeezed out through the crack in the door, and then Harry and Neville followed him out of the room. After Hermione left, Wayne looked back at the three-headed dog that was secretly observing him, and raised his wand again.

This time it was not an attack, but several consecutive healing spells fell on the three-headed dog.

"Woo~!"

The three-headed dog whimpered again, and it was unclear whether it was out of gratitude or fear.

Tom didn't care and was the last one to go out and close the door.

After surviving the disaster, everyone was still in shock. Ronald then remembered a key question and looked at Tom: "When did you show up?"

Hermione said quickly, "I almost fell just now, but Tom caught me. Filch may come over at any time. Now is not the time to talk. If you have any questions, ask them tomorrow."

"See you tomorrow then." Tom said to Hermione, then nodded to Harry and the others and left first.

Now that the parties involved had left, Ronald had no choice but to keep his questions to himself.

The four of them quickly returned to the Gryffindor tower. The Fat Lady also came back from a visit. Ignoring the Fat Lady's questioning, Harry gave the password and they went in and returned to their respective dormitories.

Harry lay in bed and couldn't fall asleep for a long time, thinking about everything that happened tonight.

Malfoy's shamelessness, insidiousness and cunning, Filch's relentless pressure, and the terrifying intimidation of the three-headed dog.

The last image in his mind was of Tom standing alone in front of them, calmly fighting off the three-headed dog.

A deep depression suddenly welled up in my heart.

Others called him the savior who defeated You-Know-Who, but Harry felt that he was nothing compared to Tom.

He didn't know what those powerful spells were, but the other party was already able to use them skillfully.

They are both freshmen, why is there such a big gap?

Far away in the Slytherin dormitory in the basement, Tom was also reviewing today's performance and was not very satisfied with himself.

The three-headed dog is famous for its thick skin and strong flesh, and its high physical and magical resistance.

Not to mention students, even many adult wizards' spells are no more than tickling to him.

But Tom felt that since he had the bonus of the 'Absolute Justice' talent, coupled with a short burst of magic power, he should be able to do better.

The reason why the effect is not satisfactory is mainly because it makes people feel disgusted.

It was unknown how long it had been since the big dog had taken a bath. The closed corridor was filled with the body odor of the three-headed dog, which seriously distracted his attention.

It seems that I will have to hone my ability to cast spells in harsh environments in the future.

Tom added another training plan, then adjusted his breathing and slowly fell asleep.

Not long after they left the corridor, Dumbledore appeared here wearing pajamas and a playful conical nightcap.

He checked the three-headed dog's injuries, then talked to the nearby portrait and sighed:

"The young are to be feared..."
