Thalina sat back on his tail, watching him. Trying, again, to read what he was thinking. Was he intrigued? Offended? Curious? Still planning to eat her?
Come on, blink or something.
But nothing. That same blank expression, as if he'd been carved out of marble and arrogance.
"Mama," Vanora piped up from the base of the coiled bedding, her big eyes round and eager, "maybe you should show him how to use it."
Thalina's face twitched.
Show him?
Was that what this was about?
Wait… was he too shy to ask?!
She looked back at Eyrx, stunned. No way. Not this cold-blooded, mountain-sized ego-serpent being shy. But…
The silence. The stare. The way he hadn't tried to wrestle it from her or toss it aside. He was waiting.
Fine.
If he was too prideful to ask, she'd just have to show him.
